#8 - Shkodran Mustafi to Arsenal (£34.85 Million)
Mustafi joined Arsenal from Valencia at the start of the 2016/17 season and quickly became the first choice in Gunners’ central defence, alongside Laurent Koscielny.
However, that’s not to say his first season with Arsenal was a successful one. The German has shown glimpses of his talent that convinced Arsene Wenger to spend such a large amount of money on him, but he has also made a number of mistakes that have drawn the ire of the Arsenal faithful.
At 25 years of age, Mustafi still has time to improve as a defender and he will need to do so in order to justify his hefty price tag.
