Welcome to Sportskeeda's daily transfer roundup.

We're well within the winter transfer window and the sheer volume of transfer speculation has been overwhelming, to say the least. Today, yet again, a whole new set of transfer news and rumours have emerged, involving some giant clubs and superstar players.

Today's top stories feature heavyweight clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Arsenal, among others. They also feature some significant players from across the world who have been linked with potential moves away from their current clubs.

On that note, here is a look at the top transfer news, rumours and updates for the day:

Aaron Ramsey completes first part of medical ahead of Juventus move

Aaron Ramsey and Arsenal were embroiled in talks over a potential contract extension for ages before the Gunners decided to withdraw their offers, allowing the Welsh star to become a free agent at the end of the ongoing season, upon completion of his current contract.

Since Arsenal's announcement, several clubs from all over the world have expressed their interest in Ramsey. However, as things stand, the 28-year-old looks to be on the verge of completing a move to Serie A champions, Juventus.

According to reports from Goal.com, Ramsey met with Juventus officials in London to begin the rudimentary stages of the formalities, as he reportedly underwent a medical ahead of what is expected to be a long-term switch to Juventus.

The report claims that Ramsey will join Juventus on a five-year deal that will reportedly see him earn approximately €7 million a year. Notably, certain giant clubs like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to have been interested.

Ramsey's agent is allegedly scheduled to meet Juventus officials this week in Italy to continue with the formalities, so as to officially put an end to interest from other clubs.

Munir El Haddadi's departure to Sevilla last week has left Barcelona with no natural second-choice striker. If reports from Marca (via TalkSport) are to be believed, manager Ernesto Valverde has reportedly decided to address the issue by signing a striker to provide back-up to Luis Suarez.

As per the reports, the Catalan giants are reportedly eyeing Tottenham Hotspur's Fernando Llorente and Chelsea's Alvaro Morata, both of whom have struggled to make a mark at their current clubs. While Llorente might be brought in on a permanent basis, a loan move for Morata also seems likely.

Unai Emery seeks Mesut Ozil exit from Arsenal

At £350,000-per-week, Mesut Ozil is Arsenal's highest paid player. However, he certainly isn't their most played. Under Unai Emery, Ozil has simply failed to establish a permanent place in the starting eleven, prompting speculation of unrest.

The German star was inexplicably dropped for Arsenal's 1-0 defeat against West Ham this past weekend, and latest reports from The Sun suggest that Emery is keen on offloading the 30-year-old this month, in order to free up funds for other player investments.

Arsenal have been linked with Barcelona's Denis Suarez, but Emery's claim that the club has no money for transfers could prompt the club to get rid of Ozil and his hefty wages, so as to make themselves capable of transfer window activity.

PSG close in on Frenkie de Jong

Ajax's 21-year-old Frenkie de Jong has quickly established himself as one of the most sought after footballers in the world. As a result of his excellent performances, the midfielder has been heavily linked with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City.

However, according to reports from AS (via Goal.com), the youngster is apparently set to join Paris Saint-Germain and has reportedly agreed on a deal with the Ligue 1 giants.

He has reportedly been offered a contract said to be worth €8 million-per-season, while the fee agreed upon by the two sides is believed to be worth €75 million.

As Real Madrid continue to struggle, especially in the attacking department, club President, Florentino Perez has reportedly been scouring the land for potential signings for the striker position. Karim Benzema's injury has reportedly forced Perez to accelerate his search.

Now, Real Madrid are believed to be closing in on Genoa's 23-year-old Krzysztof Piatek, who has set Serie A ablaze this season with his performances. Notably, the Polish striker has already been linked with Barcelona and Chelsea, who are believed to be very keen on signing him.

However, according to reports from Goal.com and Fox Sports, Piatek is reportedly set to snub Barcelona and Chelsea in favour of a move to Real Madrid. The striker is allegedly valued at €60 million by Genoa, but the reports suggest that Madrid are willing to meet that valuation in order to secure the promising star.
