Over the years, Fortnite cosmetics have evolved as developer Epic Games introduced newer particle physics as well as gameplay mechanics. Players have seen several types of skins make an appearance in the battle royale title, each carrying a unique style, theme, and movement physics to their design.

While some cosmetics are themed for a particular season, others are too arbitrary for players to get familiar with. However, skins are still the most bought in-game cosmetic of any ongoing title, and hold a decent value to those who own a lot of them in their lockers.

While some skins are considered rare and sweaty in the game as they are quite hard to get, others haven't aged quite as well with time and are looked down upon by the community.

Some OG skins cost quite a bit, approximately up to 2000 V-Bucks. Players have realized that newer cosmetics in Fortnite are much enhanced in design and cheaper, which has made the older ones a regrettable purchase.

10) Cobb

The cornier version of Peely, Cobb was first released in Chapter 2 Season 4 and was part of the Kernel Commando Set. It comes in three selectable styles with a reactive variant that makes the the character's head pop into popcorn kernels.

The outfit initially became popular as a troll skin that players used to wear, similar to that of Peely. But it slowly lost its charm as newer cosmetics such as Guff, Fabio Sparklemane, Mancake, and more made an appearance in the game. Plus, a price stamp of 1200 V-Bucks now feels like a slap in the face to some players, who regret buying the outfit.

9) Order Remnant

IO Guards were one of the most "annoying" NPCs during Chapter 3 Season 2 as they used to spawn at random with Slone and Gunnar taking over the island. However, during the Collision event, players fought the forces and took back the island to get Vibin'.

Shortly after their disappearance, the IO Guards made a return in the form of an in-game cosmetic called the Order Remnant Skin released in Chapter 3 Season 4. The price of 800 V-bucks for a below average offering really disappointed players. who spent the same amount to get skins like Aura with multiple selectable styles.

8) Skellemint Oro

A hefty price tag of $19.99 for one of the worst mint-themed skins in the game, Skellemint Oro felt like a huge disappointment to fans who loved its gold snapshot when it came out in Chapter 2. The original skin was worth 2000 V-Bucks and came with up to three selectable styles, including the popular golden glow around the skin.

However, its minty counterpart came in the form of a bundle as part of the Minty Legends Pack, which consists of two other mint-themed offerings that look far better than Oro in blue-green flames. Hence, players had to settle with a rather dull version as they preferred the other two that the bundle had to offer.

7) Brite Blaster

Brite Blaster is one of the most forgotten skins in Fortnite. The outfit was released in Chapter 2 Season 1 as part of the Sunshine and Rainbows set, which also consisted two classic Fortnite skins named Brite Bomber and Brite Gunner.

However, the latest take on a character that should have consisted more of rainbows instead of pink, failed to impress fans during the gameplay even though they spent 1200 V-bucks on the same. The outfit was last seen in the item shop in September 2021 and has not returned since.

6) Patrick Mahomes

American football quarterback Patrick Mahomes II arrived in Fortnite as part of an Icon Series skin and a celebratory Zero Build Squads Cup where winners had the chance to get his bundle for free. However, the skin, which included upto four selectable styles, was priced at 1800 V-bucks and the entire bundle was worth 2300 V-bucks.

Since many international players were not familiar with the icon, they regretted buying the cosmetic after it failed to impress them during gameplay. This is because the community had seen better Icon Series skins for a similar price, which includes reactivity to the cosmetic outfit as well.

5) DJ Bop

DJ Yonder’s female counterpart, DJ Bop, was released in Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 7 as part of the Twin Turntables set. Since Yonder was a Chapter 1 Season 6 Battle Pass skin, Bop was priced at an astounding 2000 V-Bucks and included a backbling and an additional edit style.

When it was released, players were eager to buy it from the Fortnite Item Shop. However, its charm slowly faded as better music reactive skins for a much lower price were released in Chapter 2 item shop. Thus, they have regretted purchasing the DJ Bop outfit back then for an overpriced amount.

4) Gingerbread Raider

The Gingerbread Raider is one of the most disappointing skins modeled on the OG Renegade Raider as the community showed little-to-no love to the holiday-season-themed outfit. Priced at 1200 V-bucks, the outfit came with a reactive, yet creepy backbling in the form of a smiling gingerbread that changes expressions with eliminations.

The outfit was released in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5. Players bought it during the WinterFest update and hoped the skin to live up to the hype. However, with the release of much better outfits in the holiday season that followed, they regretted putting this in their locker.

3) Hulk

The first Marvel x Fortnite collaboration skin of Chapter 4 failed to impress players after they ended a season with Spider-Gwen in their Battle Pass, which was touted as one of the best cosmetics from the comics. However, the hype for the Hulk outfit faded after players bought it for 1500 V-bucks and were disappointed upon using the chunky skin.

According to the playerbase, the She-Hulk skin that was released in the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass is far superior than her cousin Bruce Banner's character design. Another reason is that invites free eliminations from opponents in Fortnite.

2) Sterling

The Sterling outfit is so forgettable in Fortnite that many players didn't even know it existed. It was released in Chapter 1 Season 8 and was last seen in the Item shop in December 2020.

The skin was overly priced at 1500 V-bucks and OG players who had some V-bucks to spare might have bought it when it came out. However, even they regretted buying it as they realized the cosmetic was lost in the black hole with Fortnite Chapter 1 and will never be seen again.

A skin that calls itself pay to lose and lives up to the reputation, Hit Man was incredibly criticized for inviting free eliminations if a player was wearing it. The outfit was priced at a whopping 1500 V-bucks and featured various reactive areas, and the back bling ha continuously flashing lights.

As the lights glowed constantly, it was far more easier for one's opponents to spot it from a distance and take a shot. While the entire "Pay 2 Lose" gag written on the outfit's leg impressed players when it first came out in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, its charm slowly faded away. Another reason is that better outfits were released for a much lower price.
