With less than eight days to go, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is right around the corner. Although Epic Games has managed to keep details regarding the new phase of the storyline a secret, some information has slipped through the cracks.

While not all of it will come to fruition in the first few days of Chapter 4, eventually, most of it should come true. That said, here are some significant changes players can expect to see in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 will introduce several changes to the game

1) Seasonal biome and a snow-covered map

The first major change players can expect to see in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 will be with the map. With "Fracture" being the main theme of the Chapter 3 Season 4 live event, the island will look unique in terms of layout.

If the term 'reforged' is taken into literal consideration, there's a strong possibility that large chunks of islands from the past will be used to create the map. With Mancake's appearance in the latest official teaser, a desert biome cannot be ruled out.

Speaking of biomes, there will no doubt be a seasonal biome for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. This will add to the storyline and in-game value. Additionally, the island will be snowbound with Winterfest 2022 around the bend. Much like in Chapter 3 Season 1, the snow will slowly melt to reveal more POIs and landmarks.

2) New major mechanic - First-person mode

At the start of each new chapter, Epic Games adds a new mechanic. In Chapter 2, it was swimming, and in Chapter 3, it was sliding. However, for Chapter 4, there's no information about what new major mechanics Epic Games will add.

Some speculate that the first-person mode may be this new major mechanic. While it's not as much of a mechanic as it is a POV, it is a significant landmark for the game. With it being in development for some time, leaker HYPEX suggests it will likely be added when Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 begins.

3) Creative 2.0/Unreal Engine for Fortnite

The Creative mode will be revamped and overhauled into something new. Creative 2.0/Unreal Engine for Fortnite will replace the existing mode and take the Creative side of the game to a whole new level.

As confirmed by Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, this update will go live towards the end of January 2023. This will likely be done during the fourth major update for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

This updated version of the Creative mode will allow players to build more complex maps and experiences. Sometime down the line next year, players may also be able to monetize their maps after certain criteria are met.

4) New wildlife

In Chapter 3, Epic Games introduced creatures called Klombo to the island. Based on the lore, they have been present on the Flipside of the Chapter 2 map for a long time. Sadly, they all seem to have perished during the war that took place in Chapter 3 Season 2.

Following this trend, Epic Games is bound to add new wildlife to the game in Chapter 4 Season 1. One type has already been confirmed as flying. This can be verified as the developers have been working on rideable flying animals.

The island will likely exist in a brand new reality, so players cannot rule out the odds of having more exotic wildlife like Klombos. If nothing else, they might make a return as the community has been heartbroken ever since they were all lost during the war.

5) New vehicles

HYPEX has more or less confirmed that motorcycles will be present in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. The vehicle has been in development since No Sweat Summer and should be ready by now. Based on the information, the motorcycle will be able to seat two players.

In addition to motorcycles, Epic will no doubt add other vehicles to the mix. There is also a chance that the devs will add more mods to the game. Since Epic Games has been working on other mods besides off-road tires and cow catchers, players may get a few surprises when Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 begins.
