Bangladesh are set to host West Indies in a mouth-watering encounter at the end of the year. The Windies will be touring Bangladesh from 18th November to 22nd December, to finish off the campaign for this year. Before that, the Windies have a crucial tour of India where they face India, who are ranked first in the world Test rankings. Bangladesh on the other hand will also be hosting Zimbabwe, in a build up for the Windies tour.
This is the first time in six years that the West Indies cricket team is making a complete tour of Bangladesh, who last visited the country for tour in 2012.
There will be plenty of action to witness as a total of eight matches (excluding the two warm-up matches) are to be played during the Windies Tour of Bangladesh 2018. The itinerary includes two tests, three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals. Both the ODI and the T20 matches will be day/night matches, while the test matches will be played in the conventional format.
In addition to the eight matches the Windies will also face Bangladesh Cricket Board XI and another unnamed opponent as practice for the Tour. The first match will be a two day match, followed by a fifty over match.
The matches will be played across three cities - Chittagong, Mirpur and Sylhet. The venues are provided below:-
In addition, more venue will be used for one of the practice matches.
Head to Head
Bangladesh toured West Indies earlier this year from 27th June to 5th August. In a similar number of matches, the Windies prevailed in the Test matches winning both of them. However, Bangladesh expressed their dominance in the limited overs format by winning two of the three of both the ODI and T20 matches.
