It has been nearly a year since the first official GTA 6 trailer was released, and Rockstar Games still hasn't showcased anything new. Given the lack of new information, many fans have resorted to building theories on when more details might be revealed via screenshots or trailers, and looking for possible hints in the developer's social media posts for other games, particularly GTA Online. Although these theories haven't had much success so far, they do seem to have given a Rockstar employee a "good laugh".

X user @aWinnley, Production Coordinator: Environment at Rockstar Games, recently tweeted about having completed two years at the company. Among the comments on this tweet was one from @BlueRose2814, asking how they react to GTA 6 fan theories. @aWinnley replied:

"I try my best to stay off GTA reddit and Twitter but every once in a while I get sent something from a friend and get a good laugh out of a post"

The most recent theories the Grand Theft Auto fanbase has come up with revolve around a possible release date for the upcoming title's second trailer. However, none of them have turned out to be accurate so far.

The GTA 6 trailer 2 Moon Theory is one of the best examples of recent fan theories that got a lot of traction online. While some believed in it, others took a skeptical approach, and as we now know, it turned out to be false.

There have been other fan theories as well, evolving out of possible hints that fans keep looking for in Rockstar Games' social media posts. As mentioned earlier, they haven't had much success thus far, but they seem to have amused the Rockstar employee.

Notably, the Grand Theft Auto fanbase has taken the tweet quite positively. Here is popular GTA YouTuber TGG's response on the matter:

One Redditor, u/Dry-Fault-5557, also posted a hilarious clip that made it seem like Rockstar employees sit together laughing every time fans come up with absurd new theories regarding the upcoming GTA title.

Comment byu/Cotusie from discussion inGTA6

Fans have been waiting for GTA 6 for an incredibly long time, and although screenshots or a second trailer haven't been shown yet, they at least have a release window to look forward to, i.e. Fall 2025.
