It is a beautiful venue. The second time the surface is being used, the first time it was in play when GT took on MI, and 196 played 160. It looks like a beautiful surface. The shift to the black soil suits their style of play, with some grass on it. Pat Cummins played on it and led his side to a World Cup win. Cummins will also have to dislodge the top three of GT cheaply. One side of the ground is short, where batters are expected to merely put the ball in the gap

Happy days for the Gujarat Titans - they're level on points with the Mumbai Indians with a game to play, and will be looking to get back on top of the table once they meet them in four days' time. The Sunrisers Hyderabad are on the brink of elimination - they have entered must-win territory with four games remaining, the first of them being against the Delhi Capitals at home on Monday. Prasidh Krishna has been adjudged Player Of The Match! He dons the Purple Cap as well, and speaks: The purple cap doesn't feel too different, winning was more important. It was a very important victory for us today, we had two long breaks, didn't have a good previous game. Coming back to our home ground, it was important we had the win. (On whether this is the best he's been bowling) I would say so, my control over the length has been good, everyone in and around the team has been supportive. I'm enjoying the way the ball is coming out of the hand. My preparation would start with what I'd want from getting back from the practice, controlling what I can in the nets, and then what I would do against someone I am facing in a match. I have a lot of people around me, have a chat with them, try and hit the right areas and take it from there. I have one in my room, I play around with it, but I haven't got it to the field (red ball). I'm looking to take this tournament first and see what's coming later.

Shubman Gill [Gujarat Titans captain]: Didn't plan that, the only conversation we had was that let's try to play the game we've had been. On black soil, it's not easy to hit sixes. Me, Sai and Jos have the idea on how to keep the score ticking. We're all very eager and hungry to score runs and do what's best for the team. As a side, our fielding has been below average so far, very impressed with how we fielded today. Everyone is chipping in, Sai, Prasidh, Siraj, Rashid bhaai, Coetzee today. Good to have options. There was a bit of a discussion between me and the umpire today, and when there are so many emotions involved, you are bound to show some emotions.

Jos Buttler [wicketkeeper, Gujarat Titans]: Great performance, our best in the field. Rashid Khan took an excellent catch and set the tone. The guys at the top are in great form and are playing traditional cricket. They can very well occupy the crease, but they can take you by surprise with the pace at which they can score with traditional shots. Great head on his shoulders, has great humility, and puts in the hard yards. He does the basics very well, bows a fantastic line, and doesn't give much width. He is able to use his bouncer and yorker very well. Fielding has been a big thing, the batting and bowling have been excellent, but getting to this phase, everything is crucial. If we can tidy up there and keep the standards up there, we will be well set. Form team, they (MI) are on a great run and will be great to play them

Pat Cummins [captain, Sunrisers Hyderabad]: Our powerplay with the ball wasn't too great and we let them get 20-30 runs extra. Let down a few more catches and were the guilty party. They are class batters, they do not do anything outlandish and they didn't do anything risky. It is a really good wicket, going for 140 in the last 14 was a pretty good effort from the bowling group. He batted nicely, Trav started well as well. We left a little too much for the batters. Unfortunate that we cling onto some hope, there is still lot to play for. As one would resonate with them, the Sunrisers Hyderabad were off to a flier. 15 came off the first over from Mohammed Siraj - Abhishek Sharma was off the mark with a first-ball six. Abhishek was the more fluent of the two openers - Travis Head looked to go on the charge like he usually does, but he just wasn't timing the ball right. A stupendous catch from Rashid Khan in the 5th over from Prasidh Krishna ended his stay at the crease.

Abhishek Sharma looked to keep pushing along, but didn't have much support from Ishan Kishan going into the middle overs. Shubman Gill rotated his bowlers to great effect, opting for pace more often in the first half of the run-chase. Kishan's struggles at the crease was ended by Gerald Coetzee eventually - he induced a top edge, and Kishan was held at deep third by Prasidh Krishna in the 10th over.

Interestingly, Rashid Khan's introduction in the attack proved beneficial for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Abhishek and Klaasen both went after him, carting Rashid for 15 in his first over of the night. Rashid went for 14 in his following over, but the Sunrisers were still well behind the 8-ball. Prasidh Krishna played an integral role in that - he was immaculate with what length he wanted to hit, and the execution was faultless.

The pressure got to Abhishek Sharma - he lost his shape looking to slog the final delivery of the 15th over from Ishant Sharma, but holed out. Heinrich Klaasen followed three balls later, trying to ramp Prasidh and nicking behind, and once Siraj delivered a mere four-run 17th over, snaffling Aniket Verma and Kamindu Mendis in succession, all that remained to be completed were the formalities.

There were a few decent blows towards the end from Nitish Reddy and Pat Cummins, but they came far, far too late. Although they wrapped things up comprehensively, the Titans had cause for concern - Ishant Sharma suffered an injury in his left leg and had to limp off. Nevertheless, the Titans have reasons to be pleased - they're now level on points with the Mumbai Indians. Presentations to follow....
