Healy collects the ODI trophy and then the entire Australian team poses for the photographs with it in front of the WINNERS board. It has been a wonderful ODI series between two of the best sides in the world just days before the big ODI World Cup in the same country. Australia have come out as the deserving winners and as Alyssa Healy said they will now look to take this momentum into the big one. For India, despite this loss there are plenty of positives, specially in their batting. They will need to keep working on their fielding as the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur mentioned in the post-match but this is as strong an Indian unit with the additions of Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur that can take the field in a home World Cup starting in 10 days time in which they will aim to create history. From here, this is Sourabh Agrawal taking your leave on behalf of Soumarya Dutta and the entire team. Cheers!
Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain): "It was one of the flattest wickets I've ever played cricket on. Did get some advice before the match that it could be 400 plays 400 and it was very close to that. Great game of cricket and we came out with the result that we wanted which was the main thing. We just spoke about approaching this as a T20 game for the next 20 overs, squeeze as much as we can and keep the boundaries out which was a very difficult thing to do for both the sides. If we could do that, create some false pressure and we might be able to break through the middle order and we did just that thankfully. Tough wicket for the bowlers, full credit to the girls for hanging in there. Most people have had a run in this series which is fantastic for us heading into a world cup, we're in a really good place, adapted to some different conditions, fielded in the heat as well, we're well placed and hopefully we can take the momentum. You can't defend a world cup, you've got to go out there and win it. You've got to beat every side and that is what drives this group. India played a fantastic series. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into it."
Smriti Mandhana has been awarded the Player of the Series for her 300 runs in the 3-match series, here is what she said: "The only thing is not to think anything (on chasing 413), just react to the ball and hit whatever is in your area. We knew the wicket was good and the outfield was fast, just was trying to play whatever was in my slot. You don't have a choice when you are chasing 413, it would have been a lot more eventful had we won the match (or series). Nevertheless, it was a good game for women's cricket. Nothing (on what she is doing differently). Just focusing on my routines which I want to really do and keeping things really simple, those are the only things I'm doing and nothing else."
Beth Mooney has been awarded as the Player of the Match for her 138 off 75 balls, here are her words: "Looked like a really nice wicket, it was exactly that. We got off to a really nice start, wanted to keep the momentum going. To be honest, we were just out there batting, building a partnership, picking off the bowlers but as the game went on the total kept blowing out. We were probably aiming for 430-40 at one point but slowed down, we did a really job to hang on at the end, with the ball too. First and foremost I want to contribute to the team and the wins, playing in these conditions and understanding them is really important going into a world cup. Hopefully they are not all as flat as this one and the games do not feel like a T20 for 100 overs, it is nice to hit some out of the middle and now we can have a few days off before it gets serious again."
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain) - " We've played good cricket across the series. It was a great series and we can take a lot of positives out of it. I think the way Deepti and Sneh batted today shows that we have depth in our batting. From the bowling point of view, we had partnerships. Fielding has been a major concern and we will look to improve there. The good thing is that we have a lot of options now. We can try a lot of combinations. World cup is a long tournament and we can try different ones. It was a good series and a tough one. Overall we are very excited for the world cup and we will do our best."
Virat Kohli's record gets shattered. Have a look 👇
Kim Garth (Australia Women) - " Credit to the girls. It was a great game of cricket. We stuck to our plans even though it was tough initially. I think we had to get to our T20 plans very early. We were clear with what we tried to do. The execution was key and we did that. We took two quick wickets as we got Kaur and Mandhana out. Grace Harris got the key wicket. (On Smriti Mandhana) She is in incredible form and all you can do is bowl your best ball to her. We got her out eventually but she is an outstanding player. Don't really want to play on these wickets again. "
9:09 PM IST: MATCH SUMMARY
Australia (412 all-out in 47.5 overs) beat India (369 all out in 47 overs) by 43 runs
Handshakes all around, 781 runs, 20 wickets and 94.5 overs later we have a winner and it is this world-beating Australian side which has not only won the third and final ODI by a comfortable margin in the end but have also claimed the series with a 2-1 margin.
Truckloads of runs scored, the highest ever aggregate in a women's ODI, bowlers were battered and bruised, fielders hunted the leather for hours on this track which was an absolute road. India gave it all they had, pushed with all their might on the back of some scintillating knocks but they have come up short against Australia's highest-ever WODI total which was posted earlier in the day.
India were placed in a situation they would have not even imagined in the run chase, 206/2 in 20 overs with Smriti Mandhana batting past a hundred and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur past her fifty, the hosts entertained thoughts of doing the unthinkable. But then, Australia showed why they are the best side in the world as they did what they do the best when put under pressure, reversed the pressure back and in the end claimed a victory.
Smriti Mandhana batted like a dream, an absolute dream as she rocketed her way to a 50-ball hundred which is the second-fastest century in WODI history and the fastest ever in ODIs for any Indian (men or women). Records tumbled as Smriti hit boundaries with ease, a total of 17 fours and 5 maximums in her knock of 125, she got her 13th ODI ton and know only Meg Lanning is ahead of her. She shared a 121-run partnership off just 68 balls for the third wicket with the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur with balls flying to all corners of the stadium. Harmanpreet got back her form with a half-century and was looking set for much more.
However, Harman had to get some attention to her knee at the end of the 20th over and funnily it was a break in play which worked against India as the skipper got out on the very next ball and the door opened for Australia. Smriti got out to a filthy full toss from the off-spinner Grace Harris in the very next over. India went from 206/2 to 231/5 in quick time and perhaps that was the phase which won Australia the game.
India still fought valiantly, Deepti Sharma batted brilliantly in the second half of the innings, she got small partnerships with Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy and then a crucial 65-run stand for the 8th wicket with Sneh Rana. But as soon as Deepti fell on 72 in the 43rd over, it was a bridge too far for the Indian team as they were bowled out in 47 overs eventually.

46.6 Kim Garth to Renuka Thakur, BRILLIANT CATCH FROM WAREHAM AND AUSTRALIA CLINCH THE SERIES 2-1! It was full and around the middle stump line. Thakur tried to go over long on but mistimed it. The ball hung in the air for a while before Georgia Voll ran in and took an excellent catch. Australia win eventually by 43 runs.
46.5 Kim Garth to Renuka Thakur, good length delivery and outside off. Thakur tries to cut that one away chops it to short third man.
46.4 Kim Garth to Kranti Goud, IN THE AIR AND SAFE! It was pace off and full on the stumps. Goud went down the ground and only managed to chip it away over mid on. It will be a single.
46.3 Kim Garth to Renuka Thakur, full and around the middle stump line. Pushed down to long on for a single.
46.2 Kim Garth to Kranti Goud, full and around the middle and leg stump line. Goud flicks it away towards mid wicket.
46.1 Kim Garth to Kranti Goud, full and around the middle stump line. Goud works it away towards mid wicket.
Only the final rites remain in this contest now, it is a pity that a contest like this has fizzed out towards its end.
