Harry Brook (Player of the Match, 56 runs off 27 balls): "I think the boys played beautifully on a good pitch! To get along as we batted, it was great! We assessed the conditions as quick as possible and got on with it. Zak Crawley did a great job there, and then the bowlers were superb. It's not an easy ground to defend, but we are happy to come out with the four points!"

Chasing 199 was always going to be a great task. Will Jacks began the chase with a cracking boundary off the very first ball and then another one later in the set that reduced the decibels of the ground to the extent that a pin could be heard if it was dropped. The aggressive approach continued with Matt Potts being greeted to another boundary on his arrival to the bowling crease as the 2nd bowler in action for the home side.

It was a flying start for the visitors. Jacob Duffy and Potts had a tough time decoding which lines and lengths would emerge as the most productive areas of operation. But the challenge for Oval was to maintain this high run rate throughout the run chase. Will Jacks made the necessary adjustments in the batting crease to produce some high value shots before Duffy accounted for him in the first ball of the last 5 balls of the powerplay.

That is the reason why Northern Superchargers has been one of the best teams in this season. At a time when his bowlers were travelling to all parts of the ground, Brook did not deter and kept persisting with his opening bowling combination till the end of the power play which eventually led to the first wicket.

Tom Lawes has played for England Lions already. He plays his domestic cricket with Surrey. He would be keen on putting up a good performance. His ability to do well here might convince Harry Brook for a chance to get him into higher honours. Lawes put Muyeye out of his misery first and then also dismissed the danger man - Jordan Cox. This has been a wonderful outing for him - 22 runs in his 20 balls with 2 wickets! He might as well be adjudged as the Player of The Match on this belter of a wicket.

In the last game against Trent Rockets, the equation read 102 needed from 40 balls before all mayhem ensued. Today, it was 107 needed from 40 balls. Samit Patel was targeted by Sam Curran for a while, smashing 20 runs and taking the equation to 87 needed from 35 balls. But the younger Curran brother could not repeat the heroics of the other night as Matt Potts got him caught behind off a wide slower ball with Pepper diving forward to complete the catch. The third umpire took its sweet little time to confirm the decision.

The home side had been brilliant with their ground fielding as well that made the target even more stiffer for the table toppers. Donovan Ferreira has the best strike rate of all batters in this year's competition. And he came out all guns blazing yet again. Till the time, he was out there, Oval Invincibles had an outside chance. When his innings of 41 from 15 came to an end, it was the final nail in the coffin.
