We have just experienced a day that will certainly go down in PKL history! It all started with Bengaluru Bulls snapping up Vikash Kandola for ₹1.70 Crores, bettering the previous record by 50 lakhs. However, the record was not to be held by the swift raider for long as it was the Hi-Flyer's name came up within minutes! What ensued was a massive, enormous bidding war, with U Mumba and Tamil Thalaivas being relentless in their pursuit to acquire the services of Pawan Sehrawat. In the end, it was a bid of ₹2.26 Crores! Breached the ₹2 Crores mark and in grand style too, with the Thalaivas breaking the bank to snap him up! Apart from these, there was the 'Sultan' Fazel Atrachali who garnered a bid over the ₹1 Crore mark while U Mumba bounced back to sign the last player of the day, Guman Singh, for ₹1.215 Crores!
Puneri Paltan, after starting the day with a couple of Iranian buys, were happy to sit back and watch proceedings while the Telugu Titans bid aggressively and have assembled a formidable squad ahead of Day 2 of the PKL Auction 2022. The Bengal Warriors have added a good mix of youngsters and experienced players to their squad. Still a lot to be done for most franchises as they will look to build a squad around their star players.
