Being a blocky sandbox game, vanilla Minecraft isn't exactly famous for its graphics. Compared to modern titles, it has simple pixelated graphics with essential lighting. Players coming from high-end games might dislike the indie pixel textures.

Luckily, Minecraft boasts one of the largest modding communities. Many visual mods improve the graphics, such as Optifine, OptiFabric, Iris, etc. With these mods, players can use shaders to add advanced lighting.

With shaders, simple textures and lighting start to look like ray-traced graphics. This article showcases seven fantastic shaders supported by the latest version, 1.18.2. More shaders will be updated in the coming weeks.
