The special features and rewards Mojang Studios are planning for Minecraft's 15th anniversary have potentially been leaked. The sandbox game turns 15 in 2024 after its alpha version went public in May 2009. This is, of course, a massive milestone for Mojang Studios and the game's massive community. The player base already knew that the developers would do something special for the anniversary, and recent leaks have provided some insight into the upcoming special event.

Disclaimer note: This article discusses certain rewards and features that were recently leaked. They have not been confirmed by Mojang Studios.

New Minecraft cape

Capes in Minecraft are special skin customization that players can only obtain through Mojang Studios. These are novelty items that cannot be crafted in the game and cannot be found in any existing skins.

Recently, an X account named @ItsMwamOffi posted a picture of a brand-new cape on Sunday and wrote:

"Leaks on a Sunday?!?!"

This cape appears to be inspired by a creeper, the game's most iconic hostile mob. Many believe that this cape could arrive in both Java and Bedrock Edition. The X account claimed that it was one of the rewards players would receive during the game's 15th anniversary event.

New Minecraft game

Apart from the classic sandbox game, Mojang Studios has developed several types of games inspired by the original. They have worked on Minecraft Earth, Story Mode, and most recently, Legends.

Recently an X account by the name of @SmokeyStack_ posted a screenshot showcasing the words 'Internal New Games' written in the credits file in the latest Minecraft Bedrock Preview version. The X account claims that this was found in the credits file, but was not mentioned anywhere on the official website. This could also mean that Mojang Studios might be working on another new game inspired by the original sandbox block game.

It is worth mentioning that Smokey Stack is a Minecraft add-on maker and also contributes to Bedrock Wiki. However, he is not affiliated with Mojang Studios.

In conclusion, both these pieces of information are leaks from reliable sources, but they have not been confirmed by Mojang Studios. Since the 15th-anniversary date is close, the developers will likely start dropping official hints in the near future as to what players can expect from the special milestone.
