Bungie will be rolling out some major weapon changes in Destiny 2 Season 23. Considering that the shooter's a live service title, these tweaks will keep the game feeling fresh. As the new season approaches, the developer's latest blog post has outlined multiple alterations that will be made to popular weapon archetypes the moment the new season goes live.

Here are the major changes that are set to go live in Destiny 2 Season 23.

Weapon archetype buffs in Destiny 2 Season 23

The changes that Bungie will be introducing in Destiny 2 Season 23 include animation fixes and damage outputs across different weapon archetypes in the game. It's also worth noting that not all weapon archetypes are receiving changes.

For example, Scout Rifles and Shotguns have been left out for the time being, probably due to their good position in the meta. However, individual weapons from these families are receiving a few tweaks.

Here are all the changes as mentioned in the official patch notes.

General

  • Updated Drang and Zaouli's Bane to load ammo at the correct point in the animation.

Auto Rilfes

  • Updated damage against red bar enemies by 10%.

Pulse Rifles

  • Increased damage against red bar and orange bar enemies by 12.5%.

Glaives

  • Projectile increased by 30%.
  • Projectile damage increased by 25% in PvE and decreased considerably in PvP.
  • Melee delay after firing reduced to 0.2 seconds from 0.75 seconds.
  • Glaive shield recharges passively at 1% per second when holding the weapon. Overall damage resistance reduced to 30%.
  • Self damage for Winterbite has been reduced, and detonation damage of a large projectile increased by 25%.
  • Edge of Concurrence Lightning Seeker jolts targets, but the damage is reduced to compensate for the free ammo generated.
  • Edge of Action gets bonus reload speed, handling, and damage bonus for passing through the bubble. But the health of the bubble has been reduced to 2400 HP from 8000 HP.
  • Edge of Intent healing projectiles grant Cure and Restoration, and its AoE has been increased as well.

Apart from these changes, Destiny 2 Season 23 will also see some Exotics like the Osteo Striga and the Salvation's Grip get a few changes and reworks.

While these tweaks are not enough to break the game as a whole, they will definitely go the distance when it comes to shaking up the meta in both PvP and PvE activities.
