There are four types of vehicles you will be able to unlock and use in Dune Awakening. They will allow you to traverse the deserts of Arrakis and hopefully outrun Sandworms on more than one occasion. Here is the list and a basic understanding of what each vehicle is used for:

Ad
  • Sandbike: Early-game mobility. Useful for exploration and crossing vast sand patches relatively quickly.
  • Buggy: Useful when having to harvest large quantities of resources. It can also be used as an armed ground vehicle.
  • Ornithopter: An Air vehicle that can fulfill multiple roles such as exploration, combat, and transportation.
  • Sandcrawler: Slow vehicle used in large Spice harvesting operations.

Now that you know the types of vehicles you can build, let's talk about the best parts you can get for each vehicle and how they will effectively improve its performance. Keep in mind that some of these parts are from Unique schematics and may not be worth the effort to find if you're okay with standardization.

The Sandbike is going to be your early to mid-game means of transportation. It's fast, efficient, and allows you to cross the open desert with speed, allowing you to zip past any would-be Sandworms lying in wait. That said, here are all the parts available for the Sandbike:

  • Hull
  • Chassis
  • Engine
  • Tread
  • PSU
  • Backseat
  • Booster
  • Inventory
  • Scanner

As for which parts you should use, it all depends on what you plan on doing with the Sandbike. Aside from the standard parts, you'll have the option of adding one additional part.

If you want speed, the Booster will be your best friend in the desert. If you need more carrying capacity, the Inventory would be the go-to choice. If you plan on playing with a friend and need to get around fast, the Backseat will be the best option. However, keep in mind that parts add weight, which in turn will slow down your Sandbike. So choose according, and choose correctly for the task at hand.

Aside from the run-of-the-mill parts for the Sandbike, you have a few Uniques, namely the Mohandis Sandbike Engine Mk2 and Night Rider Sandbike Boost Mk2. Both are useful, but the Engine is slightly more beneficial as you won't need to sacrifice another part to slot it into your Sandbike.

Best parts to use for Buggy in Dune Awakening

The Buggy can play two primary roles in Dune Awakening. It can either be used for mining and transporting resources to and from your base or taken into an active combat zone to be used as a support vehicle. Think of the Buggy as an APC but with limited offensive capabilities. That said, here are all the parts available for the Buggy:

  • Hull
  • Chassis
  • Engine
  • Tread
  • PSU
  • Rear
  • Utility Rear
  • Booster
  • Cutteray
  • Storage
  • Rocket Launcher

As you can see from the list of parts, the Buggy can be used to carry resources or people and engage in mining, which is its primary use. It's highly recommended that you outfit your Buggy for PvE and not PvP unless the situation is dire. If indeed you need to strap weapons to your Buggy, the Rocket Launcher is available at your disposal.

Aside from the normal parts, you can also find the Unique schematic for the Rattler Boost Module Mk3 in Testing Station No. 10. This is a Booster part that will make your Buggy zip across the sands of Arrakis faster. If you plan on transporting people or resources, this part will come in handy.

Ornithopters in Dune Awakening can fulfill three distinct roles: scouting, fighting, and moving people about (very useful for rapid deployments in PvP zones). Depending on your needs, the parts you choose for your Ornithopter will vary from other builds. That said, here are all the parts available for the Ornithopter:

Assault Ornithopter

  • Cabin
  • Chassis
  • Engine
  • Cockpit
  • Generator
  • Wing
  • Tail
  • Rocket Launcher
  • Storage
  • Thruster

Carrier Ornithopter

  • Main Hull

  • Engine
  • Generator
  • Side Hull
  • Tail Hull
  • Wing
  • Thruster

Scout Ornithopter

  • Hull
  • Chassis
  • Engine
  • Cockpit
  • Generator
  • Wing
  • Scan Module
  • Storage
  • Thruster
  • Rocket Launcher

As you can see from the list of parts, each type of Ornithopter in Dune Awakening will play a unique role. Assault Ornithopters are going to be the spearhead of any Guild's attacking force in the Deep Desert, especially if they have to secure and control points for the Landsraad. Armored and armed to the teeth, pilots will be able to rain death from above.

In contrast, the Carrier Ornithopter will play a support role, ferrying supplies and manpower to the frontlines. They have no offensive capabilities, so if attacked, prepare to abandon ship.

Lastly, we have the Scout Ornithopter. This little engineer marvel can take on several roles. It can use the Scan Module to map out regions or use the Storage part to carry more items at once. If needed, it can also make use of the Rocket Launcher to attack targets, allowing it to serve as an assault recon force of sorts.

As of now, there are no Unique parts for the Ornithopter, but that could change in future updates. We could see rare and powerful schematics being uncovered in the Deep Desert.

If you're looking to harvest Spice in large quantities in Dune Awakening, Sandcrawlers will be needed. These behemoths can harvest vast amounts of the precious Spice and transport them back to the safety of your base. Building a Sandcrawler usually takes the combined effort of a Guild. That said, here are all the parts available for the Sandcrawler:

  • Utility Rear
  • Centrifuge
  • Chassis
  • Engine
  • Vacuum
  • PSU

The Sandcrawler has no Unique parts for it at the moment, but that could change in the future. However, since it has one primary function, we may not see anything special added anytime soon.

That's everything you need to know about vehicles in Dune Awakening. Keep in mind that the list of parts could expand in the future as new content is rolled out. But for the time being, this is everything that's there in-game.
