Dune Awakening’s Imperial Station 197 lies within the rocks of Western Vermillius Gap and, at first, might seem a little on the foreboding side. After all, you have to leap down a hole to get into it. If you have at least a slightly functioning Suspensor Belt, you can get there with no problem. It will protect you from the fall damage you’re likely to incur on the way down. Other than simply farming useful supplies, there’s another reason to come here.
Provided you’ve already unlocked Planetology by speaking to Dr. Derek Chinara in Hagga Basin South and doing the short quest for him, you can begin unlocking the Advanced skills here. There’s also an Execution Order contract outside you can pick up if you haven’t already done it.
How to complete Imperial Station 197 in Dune Awakening
When you’re ready to head into Imperial Station 197 in Dune Awakening, head to the location below in Western Vermillius Gap. If you’ve begun the Planetology quest chain, you should see Dr. Chinara again, who will once again ask you to descend into an Imperial Station (this one) to find some more data for him.
You should, frankly, take this either way because Planetology skills are incredibly useful.

Before you go diving into this area, do note that there are plenty of Shielded Enemies here. You should consider packing your own Holtzman Shield and have a melee and ranged weapon.
The melee weapon is to help you defeat Shielded Enemies faster. I use Khaleff’s Drinker, personally, but you should go with whichever blade fits you best. If you don’t have a storage item for your vehicle, you can also park it in the nearby shed.
You also need a few of the Healkit Mk2s, just in case you get into a dangerous situation. These heal more and cleanse status ailments, making them ideal. You still want to have plenty of standard healkits, but nonetheless, make a few of the better ones, just in case. I also recommend bringing a few Literjons if you need water. There’s lots of it down here.
Always keep an eye out for containers, as well. You can farm Particle Capacitors and Advanced Servoks here as just a few of the useful items. Imperial Station 197 will likely have a few guards outside in Dune Awakening before you go in. Take them out, do a sweep of the top area for any containers, and drop down when you’re ready.

If you’re here for Planetology, head southeast to talk to the doctor. Otherwise, go northeast to begin clearing through the dungeon. Imperial Station 197 is pretty straightforward compared to some of the other stations in Dune Awakening, which is a relief.
Head down the path on the northeast, and you’ll come across a few soldiers before too long — two ranged, one melee with a shield. Take the ranged units out early, and then when the melee unit charges in, swap weapons and take them out. If you head down the path, you’ll find another shielded melee in combat with someone else. Deal with them as well.
Clear out this large room, head up the ramp to likely find Particle Capacitors and Advanced Servoks, and keep going southeast through the doorway. The long hallway is uneventful, but at the end, there’s a green door with, of course, more enemies.
Remember that Execution Order? Defeating the enemies here, go towards that. Slaughter the bandits, and grab whatever water and loot you need off their bodies. If you’re here for the Planetology quest, you can look to the east wall as you’re going through the next doorway.

Head right first, play the little recording if you want, but definitely loot the container because it has the Film Records that you’re after for this Dune Awakening side quest in Imperial Station 197. Don’t forget the green identification band nearby, either; otherwise, you can’t proceed.
This will take you to the Mechanics Room, the next part of Imperial Station 197 in Dune Awakening. A few enemies await you here as well, both ranged. Clear them out and head northwest towards the orange lights. You’re going to follow another long hallway that leads into another wide-open room with enemies.
You’ll find a shielded melee enemy here, so take them out clean and easy before looting any chests you find, and head southwest down the long passageway. Before long, you’ll get to a doorway that leads into another large room packed with enemies. A few ranged and one shielded melee will come rushing at you. Deeper into this room, you’ll find more enemies, like a shielded mini-gun user.
Deeper into this massive room, you’ll also see an ice block being harvested in a huge machine, along with some NPCs fighting each other. Take that group out as well. While in this room, try to keep an eye out for an enemy with a flamethrower; you need them for the Execution Order. They’re also shielded, so be very careful when dealing with them.

Beyond the ice machine, on a platform, you should find the Purple Identification Band, so pick that up, grab any loot you might have missed, and go through the northeast door. You will also find a glowing container in the next room, so don’t miss out on some amazing gear (Softstep Boots).
When you’ve looted everything in this portion of Imperial Station 197 in Dune Awakening, go north, down the hallway, and up the steps. You have just a few more ranged enemies to take out. They shouldn’t give you too much trouble. Defeating them grants you access to the next room.
Go northeast when you’re ready, and you’ll have just a few more NPCs guarding the exit to the Imperial Testing Station 197 for Dune Awakening. You could also, in theory, take them out before you even begin, but if you didn’t explore this way, you must fight them now. Break through their shields, and with that, you’ve cleared Imperial Testing Station 197 in Dune Awakening!
