Vermillius Gap in Dune Awakening is an area to the north of Hagga Basin South, defended by a natural sea of sand, and of course, sandworms. It’s an area in the northern part of the Hagga Basin South map where there is almost nowhere safe to hide, covered in sandstorms, and many players have met their end trying to reach the next area. However, it’s not impossible to reach the next part of Dune Awakening; it is, however, quite treacherous.
Remember, no matter how safe you’re being though, there’s no outrunning Sandworm Spawns. If you’re having trouble getting across the Vermillius Gap in Dune Awakening, we’re here to help you get there.
How to safely reach Vermillius Gap in Dune Awakening
When it’s time to cross into the Vermillius Gap in Dune Awakening, we recommend heading through the dead center of the map, shown in the circled area. It’s important to go fast, and go without fear.
You will almost certainly attract a sndworm while you’re driving through the open sand across the vast gap. There’s no safe place to stop, so just keep going straight. Shai-huluds are active both during day and night, so the time of your journey doesn't matter.

During your time in Hagga Basin South in Dune Awakening, you’ll pick up the quest Moving On, which asks you to head across the sand to the Vermillius Gap region. You might think that it’s just safe to drive across that whole border, but you’d certainly be wrong. A good example is the northwest part of the Hagga Basin South border.

This part of the map has terrifying quicksand, and you don’t want to be swallowed up by this. What really makes this all so dangerous is that by the time you’re ready to go to Vermillius Gap, you have broken down your whole base and are getting ready to relocate. Everything you own is going to be in your inventory and your vehicle in Dune Awakening.
At least, if you get eaten, you will receive a vision that leads to you receiving a full set of sandbike parts, so you can try again. This is all you receive; everything else is gone forever, consumed by Shai-Hulud. It’s also a one-time-only freebie, we know from experience.
Getting to Vermillius Gap is still dangerous, no matter what place you drive through, and there’s always going to be a chance of sandworms. It’s important to go without fear, because as we all know, fear is the mind-killer.
