Dune Awakening Weekly reset guide: Coriolis Storm wipe and new Landsraad Cycle

The Coriolis Storm in Dune Awakening is just one facet that should keep the endgame of the survival MMO relatively fair. The ability to wipe everything in the Deep Desert and make players start over with a slightly new setting keeps things fresh and interesting, and will hopefully prevent one or two guilds from completely controlling the PvP endgame. We’ll just have to see how that winds up in the coming weeks and months, but it shows a great deal of promise.

In addition to Dune Awakening’s Coriolis Storms, players can also interact with the Landsraad Cycle, which resets every week as well. The player-run factions get to vote on a variety of things that can shape how the game plays for the following week. It can make PvP more challenging, or allow people to make more money on spice. Here’s what you need to know.

When does the Coriolis Storm hit Dune Awakening, and what does it mean?

The Coriolis Storm in Dune Awakening begins on Tuesdays, when the servers restart. It completely reshapes the Deep Desert, and it is recommended you have some Survey Probes ready to go. It’s likely that locations of points of interest and resources are going to be shuffled around. Treat it as a sort of randomizer. It also destroys all bases, forcing players to start over again.

Thankfully, bases across Hagga Basin will be unaffected, as will its resources. However, you can see and experience the Coriolis Storm in Hagga Basin. It obfuscates much of the land in front of you in a dust storm, and you’ll see the occasional lightning strike hit the sand.

This storm lasts for several hours, and when it’s done, the PVP landscape will have changed. Players will receive several global notifications before the Coriolis Storm hits, so they can take shelter away from the Deep Desert. Alongside this system, there’s also the Landsraad, which also takes place on a weekly basis.

The Landsraad weekly term ends in Dune Awakening on Sunday, and the 24-hour-long voting session will begin. The various player factions can then vote on what decree they want activated for the week. Then, after the 24 hours have passed, there is a “suspended phase,” before the Landsraad cycle begins on Tuesday.

After the Coriolis Storm has subsided, players will have to live with whatever got voted in for the week, and once the next Sunday rolls around, players will have time to vote once again. Thankfully, you can see the next topics well in advance by going to the Social Tab, clicking Landsraad, and clicking the gavel icon on the left.
