Before you raid in WoW The War Within, knowing which healer classes are on top of the tier list can be important. While everyone wants different things as a healer, there are certain things your support players need to have. Decent heals, strong buff/utility options, and even decent DPS are all fairly important. However, these are just our opinions, and while they may mirror other people’s, they are just that: opinions.
Whether you’re doing Mythic+ dungeons, raids, or PvP, knowing which healer tops the tier list in WoW The War Within can help you make informed decisions. At the end of the day, though, skill and knowledge of a class can make a huge difference. When it comes to healers, not having access to certain dispels or buffs can make a difference in being picked/not picked for a raid.

Which healer classes stand out in the WoW The War Within raid tier list? (Nerub-ar Palace)
S-Tier:
- Preservation Evoker
You want at least one S-Tier healer class from the tier list going into a WoW The War Within raid. Having more can’t hurt, but at least having one is key. There are so many reasons to love Preservation Evokers. They have amazing empowered heals and Rewind to remove damage taken by all allies (This also results in a heal).
They also have the freshly buffed Lifebind. In general, I am very happy to see Preservation Evoker on top in WoW The War Within, even if I don’t play one all that often. The only real downside they have is a lower range compared to other healers.
A-Tier:
- Holy Paladin
- Restoration Shaman
- Discipline Priest
WoW The War Within’s A-tier healers in this raid will be picked up for sure. At least one of them will almost assuredly be in your group. They’re often very powerful, and have reliable, if not must-have utility options. The Shaman rework in general was amazing, and in particular, Restoration Shaman can now shine. They also have a new buff. but Skyfury can do tons of work in a raid group.
If it weren’t for the recent Paladin nerfs, I’d probably say they deserved to be A+ or S. Sadly, they just aren’t performing in a place that makes it worthwhile. However, their amazing heal buttons, reduction of bloat, and the Devotion Aura+Aura Mastery allow Holy Paladin to continue to shine. In general, even post-nerfs, I think most Paladin specs are solid, whether you’re Tanking Mythics or just playing casually.
B-Tier:
- Mistweaver Monk
- Holy Priest
B-Tier healers on the WoW The War Within raid healer tier list are solid but are otherwise unremarkable. They’re missing one or two little things to push them into a must-have role. You will likely see some of these to round out a raid group, though. Holy Priest, for example, has some pretty rough cooldowns to deal with (Holy Word: Salvation in particular).
While I’m not really much of a Monk player, I do feel like Mistweaver might need a little something more. They were improved ahead of this expansion, too. If you don’t have a Monk Tank or DPS, you should probably bring in a Mistweaver to use Mystic Touch, at the very least. They’re reliable, but not remarkable by any stretch.
C-Tier:
- Restoration Druid
The C-Tier of the WoW The War Within raid healer tier list is for healers in an awkward spot. They might have useful cooldowns but lack seriously in other departments. My main problem with Restoration Druid is just how they don’t feel like they do very much.
Despite having awesome buttons, the focus on Healing Ramp/occasional burst heals just doesn’t feel great. It takes some serious skill to make the most of it. They have the potential to be amazing but it doesn't feel like the game is allowing for that right now.
