NASCAR racing has brought out the stock car racing format into the spotlight. It is a celebration of the speed and excitement of motorsports paired with American culture. NASCAR travels all over America to host 36 races throughout the season.

Each of these races has their own set of challenges and are consistently unpredictable, leading to varied results and surprise winners. NASCAR racing involves more than just fast driving. It is a combination of speed, strategy and more often than not the ability to take risks. The team has to work in a precisely synchronised way to bring out the best in the drivers during the race.

NASCAR cars are modified stock cars built for oval racing. They have special features and technology which enable them to compete at high speeds for extended periods of time during a race.

A NASCAR race wouldn’t last even minutes if the car’s engine can’t handle the pressure. NASCAR engines are horsepower beasts waiting to be unleashed on the track. They are easily able to reach speeds of over 190 mph and sometimes need restrictors. NASCAR Cup Series has three manufacturers Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford.

Toyota Engines in NASCAR

Yes, Toyota is a primary engine supplier in NASCAR. The engines used in the three NASCAR series are more or less the same. They produce a total output of nearly 650-700 horsepower. They use the same Electronic Fuel Injection technology although the transmission may vary from series to series. NASCAR Cup Series are built last throughout the race and they are sanctioned according to a set of regulations which include restrictor plates to decrease their speed at the Superspeedways.

NASCAR engines are 358 cubic inch, V8 Pushrod engines which are manufactured by the three manufacturers according to their needs. There is no superior engine among the three however, there may be a little bit of performance gain in different manufacturers due to the technology they use. Toyota is a powertrain supplier like the others and its engines are used by many teams.

The Toyota Racing Development manufacturers and develops engines for all their NASCAR teams and for different series. They are paired with the Toyota cars Toyota Camry XSE for Cup Series, Toyota Supra for Xfinity and the Toyota Tundra in theTruck Series. The Toyota engines are run by Joe Gibbs Racing, Legacy Motor Club and 23XI Racing in NASCAR.
