NASCAR Cup Series is a part of the elite stock racing organization, NASCAR. NASCAR organizes the Cup Series, Xfinity Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. These motorsports divisions are the best and most elite division in stock car racing. The Cup Series has the best payouts and most fame out of the three series. The Cup Series is a motor racing event organized by NASCAR throughout North America. It has a 36 race schedule which alternates between oval tracks and road courses. NASCAR Cup Series allows 40 drivers to participate in any race.

NASCAR racing sees their cars reaching speeds of up to 190 mph on certain tracks. NASCAR cars are production cars which are modified to suit racing on ovals. NASCAR drivers participate in three stage races every weekend and the top-16 drivers get to participate in the Chase for Cup Series. The Chase for Cup decides the victor of the Cup Series. NASCAR features cars like, Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang and Toyota Camry. The cars are fitted with V8 engines that produce a bit over 600 HP.

The cost of a NASCAR license is $2000 which drivers have to pay yearly. To drive in NASCAR a person must go through specialized training and win lower series to gather enough credibility for gaining a NASCAR license. It is a special permit that allows drivers to compete in NASCAR competitions.

NASCAR requires new drivers to apply for a fresh license in order to compete even if they are champions in other racing series. Additionally, every member of the team must have an issued license to compete officially. These factors make NASCAR a strict body when it comes to the level of their participants. The drivers start from most basic tracks making their way up to the upper echelons of the sport which include the Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series and Cup Series.
