There are great drivers, and then there is Kevin Harvick. Today, the number ‘4’ in NASCAR is synonymous with Harvick and the 60 valorous wins that he has accumulated throughout 22 years of driving in NASCAR's top-tier racing series. A father, a car owner, a former driver, and a commentator; Harvick's career is long and needlessly said, quite illustrious.

Harvick recorded 60 wins in the Cup Series, which ranks 10th in the all-time Cup Series wins. However, the most significant moment in his career is perhaps when he won the 2014 Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and with that, bagged the Cup Series championship in his very first year driving for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Among his other victories in the realm of the Cup Series, the most noteworthy are his 2007 Daytona 500 victory, three Brickyard 400 wins as well as a pair of wins each in the Southern 500, the Coca-Cola 600, and the NASCAR All-Star race.

Coming to the Xfinity side of things, Harvick ranks third all-time with 47 race victories. Furthermore, Harvick won two championships in the Xfinity Series in 2001 and 2006. The Bakersfield native also won 14 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races throughout his career as a professional stock car driver.

Who is Kevin Harvick's mother?

Kevin Harvick was raised alongside his younger sister Amber by their mother JoNell, who worked as a housekeeper and also an elementary school secretary. Both Harvick's mother and sister have played pivotal roles in shaping his career since the very beginning.

Who is Kevin Harvick's father?

Kevin Harvick's dreams of racing were fuelled at a very young age by his father, Mike Harvick, who got him a go-kart as a kindergarten graduation gift. After being successful in go-kart races, Kevin Harvick intended to participate in Late Model races, but unfortunately, he did not have enough money to afford a ride. Thanks to his dad; Mike Harvick sold off his cherished car, a 1955 Chevrolet, and gathered enough money to get his son an entry, as per reports.

Interestingly, the first Late Model car that Harvick drove was built by Harvick and his father behind a garage that read ‘Harvick Motorsports’. His father used to be a chief crew member of a local race team and hence, getting hands on the parts and pieces from used stock cars wasn't difficult for him.

However, the father-son duo has not been on talking terms for the last 10-15 years. It is heard that Harvick's father had a drinking problem, which shattered his familial ties as he grew up.
