NASCAR has been the staple stock car racing for all motorsports enthusiasts worldwide. Since its start, NASCAR has showcased its Championship Trophy every February in Daytona. In 1971, RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company was leased the naming rights for the Cup Series. They used their premier brand Winston for naming the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. The Winston Cup Series era lasted from 1971 to 2003. The Trophy during these years was simply called the Winston Cup. This representation was helpful for the sponsor.

After Winston, NASCAR has had many title sponsors for the Cup Series. Nextel became the title sponsor in 2003 and remained on board till 2007. The series was simply renamed to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Monster Energy then became a part of NASCAR as the Title Sponsor but after 2019, NASCAR refused to extend this Title Sponsorship. Since the 2020 season, the NASCAR Cup Series has not had any title Sponsor and is simply known as the NASCAR Cup Series. Their new sponsorship model did not lease any brand naming rights to the series.

The NASCAR Trophy Name

The NASCAR Cup Series Trophy is called The Bill France Cup.

As the top level of the NASCAR series has no title sponsor, the Cup Series changed the championship trophy name in 2020. The name pays homage to Bill France Sr. as well as Bill France Jr. Bill France Sr., fondly known as Big Bill, was the founder of NASCAR. His contribution to NASCAR has been immeasurable. His son, Bill France Jr., also served as the CEO of NASCAR.

The trophy is intricately designed by Jostens to have all the circuits of the racing schedule represented on the trophy. They have been the makers of the trophy for a long time.
