Early Life and Career
Raquel Bennington was born on September 5, 1988, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States.
Pennington’s aptitude for athletics started at a young age as she tried her hand at basketball and boxing, among other disciplines. She then started training MMA and competed on the amateur circuit from 2009 to 2011. By 2012, she made her professional debut against Kim Couture and won the fight via TKO.
Before signing with the UFC, she fought for Invicta Fighting Championships from 2012 to 2013 and Destiny MMA: Na Koa 1.

Raquel Pennington made her promotional debut on March 15, 2014, at UFC 171 against Jessica Andrade. She lost the fight via decision.
In her second fight in the octagon, she defeated Ashlee Evans-Smith by technical submission (bulldog choke) on December 6, 2014, at UFC 181.
Raquel Pennington lost her third UFC fight against Holly Holm at UFC 184 on February 28, 2015.
