Top Dolla: A Brief Biography

Top Dolla is an American professional wrestler and former American football player. His real name is Anthony Joseph Francis and is currently signed to WWE where he performs on the SmackDown brand.

He is currently a member of the faction “Hit Row” alongside Ashante ‘Thee’ Adnois and B-Fab.

Top Dolla's Early Life and American Football

Top Dolla was born on May 7, 1990, in the capital city of USA - Washington. He had been athletic from a young age and was very interested in American football. He made his way to the NFL drafts in 2013, at the age of 23.

He joined the Miami Dolphins in April 2013 before joining the New England Patriots later that year. Towards the end of 2013, Dolla was once again back at the Dolphins after leaving the Patriots.

Over the next years, Dolla also played for teams such as Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskin and New York Giants. He was released by The Giants in May 2018 and, unfortunately, was not signed by any team in the next season. In his overall NFL career, Dolla had made a total of twenty tackles.

Professional Wrestling Career

NXT (2021)

Top Dolla signed a contract with WWE in January 2020. His debut in the industry was delayed due to training and the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, he made his debut on the May 4, 2021, episode of NXT and aligned himself with Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott.

The very next week, Dolla and Scott formed a group called Hit Row which also included Ashante Adonis and B-Fab.

SmackDown (2021-Present)

Hit Row was drafted to SmackDown at the 2021 WWE Draft held in October of that month. However, just a month later, on November 4, the group’s only female member B-Fab was released by WWE citing budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

15 days later, the rest of Hit Row was also released from the WWE due to the same reasons. Top Dolla remained mostly out of the news during his time away from WWE and pro wrestling in general.

Hit Row was re-signed by WWE about a year later. On the August 12, 2022, episode of SmackDown, the group made a surprise return. However, only three superstars made their return, i.e., Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, and B-Fab. This was because Isaiah Scott had already joined AEW and he worked there under the ring name Swerve Strickland.

In December, Adonis and Dolla defeated The Viking Raiders and Legado Del Fantasma to earn a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The next week, they failed to beat The Usos for the title. Top Dolla had a brief feud with Ricochet at the beginning of 2023. Adonis and Dolla were once again drafted to SmackDown in the 2023 WWE draft.

Music Career

Top Dolla (real name - A.J. Francis) has also been quite active in the music industry. In October 2017, he dropped a music video - Olympic Gold featuring J-Lew. The song also featured on his debut album “O.T.A.”, which made it to Apple Music as well.

In March 2022, he appeared in a music video called Digits alongside his WWE partners Ashante Adonis and Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott. The group then again appeared in a song named Price Went Up in March 2023. On July 21, 2023, Dolla, B-Fab, and Adonis dropped a freestyle song by the name Barbie Barz.

Top Dolla’s Wife

Top Dolla began his American football career in 2013 and was signed by the Miami Dolphins that year. During his birthday party that year, the previously undrafted superstar also proposed to his girlfriend Tatiana Uruburo.

The two had been dating for two years up to that point, and Dolla proposed to her for a marriage at the party. Less than two years later, in March 2015, Dolla married Uruburo. In an interview later that year, Uruburo revealed that Francis was too talkative. Since then, Dolla has kept his personal life private, and not much is known of his wife since then.
