5 Kalos Pokemon that deserve Paradox variants

Paradox Pokemon are the newest Legendary subspecies to come to the franchise. Much like Ultra Beasts, these creatures differ heavily from the standard Pocket Monster. However, these Paradoxes came to the modern day from the time machine in Area Zero, making their place of origin either the far future or the distant past.

Their designs take inspiration from creatures we have seen in past generations and rework them entirely, creating entirely new and much more powerful species compared to their base variant. Since Kalos has some of the most beloved creatures in the modern generation, here are five Kalos Pokemon that should get Paradox variants.

5 Kalos Pokemon that should have received Paradox versions

1) Greninja

Greninja is the fully-evolved Water-type starter of the region and received some special attention in the anime, which would follow it into the main series. If Greninja were to receive a Paradox variant, it would most likely be from the far future and host design similarities to the Ash-Greninja form that can be achieved from the Battle Bond ability.

In this process, it would most likely maintain its primary Water typing, but if it were to receive a secondary typing, the Psychic or Electric elements would be fitting. Iron Shuriken would still most likely be a fast special attacker, but its stats would be optimized, granting it more speed and offense but with considerably less defense.

2) Aegislash

Aegislash is another beloved Kalos Pokemon that has made a few more appearances in main series games since its release. While its base form is not obtainable in Scarlet and Violet, many players have a fondness for Aegislash thanks to the unique playstyle behind its Shield and Sword forms.

If it were to receive a Paradox variant, either the past or future for inspiration would be an interesting idea. The past form could feature Aegislash as a primal club, sporting various carvings and embued with prehistoric magic, while its future form could take inspiration from the iconic lightsaber. Each form could sport a Rock or Electric secondary typing in addition to Ghost, respectively.

3) Goodra

Goodra has two seperate forms already, so if it did receive a Pardox variant, it would have most likely combined the two. This being said, it would aim its design towards the past rather than the future and feature a much slower, snail-like Goodra.

Rather than boasting a secondary Steel typing like its Hisuian form, this Paradox Goodra could look more akin to Lapras and feature a secondary Water typing, with an aquatic-themed shell to match the element. It would also be signficantly bulky, with both a high HP stat and high defenses.

4) Talonflame

Talonflame is a very popular early Flying-type Pokemon that players can get in their playthrough of the Kalos region. Given its unique Fire secondary typing, many trainers have grown attached to this creature over the years. With its battle gimmick of being a fast sweeper that deals massive damage through Brave Bird and Flare Blitz, a Paradox variant could give it an interesting design.

With Steel and Fire-types being rather rare in the franchise, a change in Talonflame's typing to the combination would be nice to see. Since the base variant of this Pokemon is notoriously fast, giving Paradox Talonflame a design that takes inspiration from a jet would be thematically appropriate.

5) Tyrantrum

Iron Thorns was a Paradox variant of Tyranitar that mostly fell short with fans due to Tyranitar's already somewhat goofy design that looks more like the old Godzilla rubber suit worn by the actor, rather than the king of monsters himself. However, Tyrantrum has the potential to make for a much better futuristic Paradox thanks to its modern, more imposing design.

A Mecha-Godzilla form for the dinosaur complete with a Steel typing over its pre-exisiting Rock one would give it the potential to decimate the competition with Electric Terrain support. The idea of a robotically enhanced T-Rex on one's team would also be a very strong incentive to give the hypothetical Iron Jaws a chance in their party.
