Disney+ undoubtedbly ranks among the best and most popular streaming platforms out there, competing neck to neck with giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

What makes Disney+ one of the sought-after platforms is its extensive library of original content. Other than hosting numerous classics and successful theatrical releases, it also offers exclusive titles like the Marvel series, and several other original creations which they have been perfecting since a long time.

As summer takes its full swing, Disney+ is yet again set to take care of our entertainment needs with an array of thrilling new titles arriving this June. From heartwarming dramas to highly anticipated Marvel titles, and documentaries, it has something on offer for everybody.


Flamin' Hot, Marvel: Secret Invasion, and 3 other new titles coming to Disney+ in June 2023

1) Flamin' Hot

Flamin' Hot is an upcoming biographical comedy drama from the house of Searchlight Pictures. The film is directed by Eva Longoria in her feature directorial debut, with a screenplay by Lewis Colick and Linda Yvette Chávez, which is inspired from the memoir by Richard Montañez, A Boy, a Burrito and a Cookie: From Janitor to Executive.

The cast of the film features Jesse Garcia in the lead character alongside Annie Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera, Tony Shalhoub, Matthew Walsh, and others in supporting roles. The film is set to release exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu for streaming on June 9.

Flamin' Hot chronicles the origin story of an iconic snack that took over the world -- Flamin' Hot Cheetos. The film follows the true story of Richard Montañez, a janitor working at the Frito Lay factory. When faced with the imminent closure of the factory and a lot of layoffs because of diminishing demand for their product, Richard steps up and takes it in his own hands to come up with a new product.

He thinks of making a spicy chip, something that was previously unheard of. But when he is shrugged off by the factory manager, he directly calls into corporate to pitch his idea and doesn't back down until creating the legendary Flamin' Hot Cheetos snacks.


2) Assembled: The Making of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

Assembled is an anthology documentary series from the house of Marvel Studios, created specially for streaming on Disney+. Each episode is a special on different MCU productions, both series and films, and gives us a detailed look at the process of creation.

Assembled: The Making of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the set to be latest installment to the docuseries. The hour-long episode will feature interviews with the cast and crew alongside behind-the-scenes footage of the production and will release on Disney+ on June 14.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was the first film in MCU's Phase Five and has paved the path to the future of the MCU till 2026, introducing Kang The Conqueror as the overarching antagonist. Alongside Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the lead roles, the film also introduced Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors in the cast. The film itself just arrived on Disney+ for streaming on May 17, 2023.


3) Stan Lee

Stan Lee is an upcoming biographical documentary from the house of Marvel Entertainment Studios. The documentary has been directed by David Gelb and comes as a sort of centennial tribute to the creator of all things Marvel.

The film will have its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, right before releasing on Disney+ for streaming on June 16.

The hour and a half long documentary will focus on the life and numerous accomplishments of Stan Lee, painting us an intimate picture of the man behind the Marvel universe while exploring the impact he had on the entertainment industry on a whole.


4) Marvel: Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion is an upcoming limited series from the house of Marvel Studios. The series has been directed by Ali Selim, with a screenplay written by Kyle Bradstreet, inspired from the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name.

The cast features prominent actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and others in pivotal roles. Secret Invasion is set to release exclusively for streaming on Disney+ on June 21.

The official overview for the series, as provided by Marvel, reads as follows:

"In Secret Invasion, set in the present-day MCU, Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity."

5) World's Best

World's Best is an upcoming coming-of-age musical comedy Disney+ original film set to premiere on the streaming platform on June 23. The film has been directed by Roshan Sethi, a radiation oncologist turned filmmaker, and produced by Thomas Keil, director of the critically acclaimed 2020 Broadway hit film Hamilton.

The screenplay for the film was written by Jamie King alongside leading star Utkarsh Ambudkar, with the original songs coming from Charlie Wilder and Ambudkar. The film also stars talented actors like Manny Magnus and Punam Patel in pivotal roles alongside Dorian Giordano, Kathryn Greenwood, Jake Choi, Max Malas, Piper Wallace, Kayla Njeri, and others in supporting roles.

As per a press release from Disney+, the description for the films reads as:

In “World’s Best,” 12-year-old mathematics genius Prem Patel, in the midst of navigating the tumultuous hardships of adolescence, discovers his recently deceased father was a famous rapper and immediately sets out to pursue a career for himself as a rap superstar. While his actions may appear reckless and the quickest way for him to lose everything, Prem, empowered by imaginative hip-hop music-fueled fantasies where he performs with his father, is determined to find out if hip-hop truly is in his DNA. As his father always used to say, “the world’s best never rest.”
