#1 Chelsea close in on Atletico Madrid duo

Chelsea are confident of announcing the £35 million purchase of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa before the start of the World Cup. The Blues’ deal for the 25-year-old is virtually completed, but the player’s medical has been delayed by his hamstring injury.

Costa, who has been included in Spain’s 23-man squad for the World Cup, is said to have returned to training and is expected to have a medical later this week. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid left back Filipe Luis’ switch to Stamford Bridge has edged closer after the La Liga champions had an offer of close to £8 million accepted for Granada left back Guilherme Siqueira.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to replace the departing full back Ashley Cole with the Brazilian Filipe Luis, who will cost around £19 million.

#2 Premier League clubs set to miss out on Arturo Vidal and Alvaro Morata

Real Madrid are reportedly set to beat Manchester United to the signing of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in a deal which would also see Arsenal and Tottenham miss out on Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.

Juventus and Real Madrid are believed to have opened talks for a sensational swap involving Vidal and Morata. Vidal is reportedly a transfer target for the Red Devils, who have been advised to sign the Chilean by former boss Sir Alex Ferguson. Juventus are reluctant not to sell their star man but Real Madrid are now willing to offer Morata plus cash to lure Vidal to the Spanish capital.

Morata is said to have already agreed personal terms with the Serie A champions, who are ready to insert a ‘buy-back’ option for Real Madrid to remain in pole postion to sign the young striker ahead of both Arsenal and Tottenham.

#3 Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea next season

Chelsea star attacker Eden Hazard has insisted that he will be staying at Stamford Bridge next season. The Belgian International will be wearing his favored No10 shirt for the Blues from the start of next campaign, the club’s official website confirmed.

Hazard is a top transfer target for French outfit Paris Saint Germain, who are willing to offer in excess of £50 million to land the flying winger. “I am very pleased to be able to wear the No10 for Chelsea,” Hazard said.

“I hope it brings me a lot of luck in the future and I look forward to the fans seeing me in it next season.”

#4 Southampton want Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez

Southampton are reportedly interested in includ Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez in part-exchange deal for Luke Shaw which will see the young full back heading to Old Trafford.

Hernandez is expected to leave Red Devils this summer in search of regular football with a host of European clubs keen to sign. The Mexican star has been linked with a move to Inter Milan and Valencia in recent times but Southampton are believed to be keen on signing Hernandez as a replacement for Rickie Lambert, who has joined Liverpool for around £4 million.

Man United are in pole position to sign the highly rated Saints’ left back Luke Shaw. However, the Red Devils have seen a bid of £25 million rejected by Southampton, who are holding out for £30 million.

#5 Barcelona and Chelsea battle for Atletico Madrid\'s Koke

European heavyweights Barcelona and Chelsea are said to be going head-to-head in a transfer battle for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke. Chelsea are seeking a replacement for club legend Frank Lampard, who has confirmed that he will be leaving the Blues this summer.

However, Barcelona have their own future plans and are looking to fill the boots of aging midfielder Xavi. Koke has been tipped as the perfect successor to Catalan legend Xavi by the people in Spain. Barcelona face further midfield problems with Cesc Fabregas now likely to leave the Camp Nou in the summer.
