WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 17 November, 2014

With WWE’s Survivor Series just days away, the company will bring their go –home edition of Monday Night Raw from the Berglund Center Coliseum in Roanoke, Virginia. It would be hard to stress the importance of this show as WWE’s hopes of making Survivor Series a success completely rests on it. The only thing that the writers have managed to build up so far is the Team Cena – Team Authority angle and the rest of it seems one dimensional. If Vince McMahon is looking to sell Survivor Series as a one match pay-per-view, then he wouldn’t have many problems on Raw but that isn’t the case is it? There is a lot of work left to be done before next Sunday and here is a look at the things that WWE could line up on this week’s Raw.

#1 Lets show who the boss is

Vince McMahon is not scheduled to appear on this week’s Raw but he always like to pull off a surprise here and there. The reason why Survivor Series became so exciting was because of his announcement a couple of weeks ago.

There are rumors of a power struggle being the main program for WrestleMania next year and if that is the case, then Vince has to be a mainstay in weekly program.

The company is suffering from a lack of star power in their main event scene at the moment and bringing back McMahon would be a great boost. His presence would be priceless ahead of Survivor Series and WWE at all costs should make this appearance happen.

#2 Some credibility for Ambrose and Wyatt

The fans weren’t much happy about the climax of Hell in a Cell. The long running feud between Rollins and Ambrose came to an abrupt end thanks to some interference from Bray Wyatt.

A positive thing about the whole angle was the potential that Bray and Ambrose had. Both men fall into the ‘best talkers’ category in professional wrestling and a lot of in ring psychology was also guaranteed if they went head to head.

However, the feud is yet to live up to the expectations. Yes, the promos have been great considering WWE standard but they are yet to sell their match at Survivor Series.

The creative team has been pushing the main event so much that they simply overshadowed the Bray – Ambrose encounter. Raw will be the only chance to save this feud from sinking and hopefully WWE would do the right decision.

#3 Return of Luke Harper

Harper stole the show last week even though he just had ten seconds of air time. He made his intentions crystal clear and the only thing that Harper wanted was to be in the main event of Survivor Series.

WWEs decision to split the Wyatt Family is already making money for them as Harper looks poised to break out as a main eventer. The fans are yet to see him in between the ropes as a singles competitor but that mystery is going to be solved on Raw.

The well bearded Harper is scheduled to wrestle this week on Raw and even if its a squash match, Harper would come out looking good.

There is also a chance of Harper getting called up into Team Authority and this makes him the star to watch out for this weeks Raw.

#4 The undercard for Survivor Series

Survivor Series is one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year for WWE and with just seven days away from the show, the company has only booked three matches.

WWE pay-per-views have an average of eight matches including the pre-show match and this call for five more matches to be booked in two major shows over the week.

It would be hard to buildup these matches properly but for the sake of selling the pay-per-view, WWE needs to make it happen. A big problem that the writers would face is a lack of options. They’ve invested both midcard champions in the main event and there isn’t any good storyline in the midcard that deserves a pay-per-view match.

Random matches are most likely to be added for Survivor Series on Raw and though it’s a bad idea, something is always better than nothing.

#5 Let the teams assemble

The Survivor Series main event has been pushed heavily over the last month as if it was the WrestleMania main event.

Out of the ten men required for the match, the company has lined up eight with the remaining two to be added on this week’s Raw. Both teams need on superstars each and Team Authority has three possible options to pick from.

They could go with Cesaro, Luke Harper or Triple H while Team Cena’s hopes rest completely on Ryback. Cena would see his options grow if we get to see a big return from Randy Orton or Roman Reigns this week and if that happens, WWE would have no trouble making Survivor Series a successful outing for everyone.
