WrestleMania 31: 5 Things Which Could Ruin the Pay-Per-View

Ever felt the weight of entire world on your shoulders? So much weight that it makes the head burst with wishes of ending the pain? Well, Vince McMahon and his WWE writers will be feeling just the same on March 29 when the company will come up with WrestleMania 31 from the Levi’s Stadium.Putting together the biggest wrestling show in the business is probably the worst nightmare for the creative team as a simple mistake could screw up the entire show. And when you are trying to follow up pay-per-views like Royal Rumble and Fast Lane, the pressure is sure to double up.There are certain things that the company needs to avoid if they are to make WrestleMania a success story and here is a rundown on them.

#5 An Undertaker Sting Showdown

Sting and Undertaker is destined to meet at WrestleMania 32 and WWE have the option of starting the angle at Mania 31 itself. To be frank, this would be awesome. I personally would love to see Sting and Undertaker going face to face at WrestleMania 31 because it’s going to be simply awesome but what does that make Bray Wyatt and Triple H?

Taker is scheduled to take on Bray while Sting will face Triple H. Both matches have been hyped to the core and if the confrontation between Sting and Taker happens, then it will simply nullify both these matches.

On the other hand WWE could save the moment for another night and let Bray and Triple H get their due credit rather than being just projected like background jobbers.

#4 Bryan not winning the Intercontinental title

One of the biggest headaches WWE had heading into WrestleMania was Daniel Bryan. They bought him back from injury at a very awkward time and ruined what could have been a great run for Roman Reigns. Reigns would have been treated as a fan favorite if it wasn’t for Bryan’s return and now that we cannot change the past, let’s fix the future shall we?

Bryan is now going to be in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at the pay-per-view, and the fans are going to riot if he doesn’t win the gold. Bryan winning the IC championship will do wonders to the mid-card and any other superstar winning might have some serious consequences in the main event.

#3 The Divas limited by time

So after all the campaign that went down in social media about giving the girls a chance, if the WWE decides to treat the divas match at WrestleMania as a toilet break, then they are going to get some serious backlash from the WWE Universe.

The tag team match between Bellas and AJ Lee – Paige will probably be the only representing match of the division and it has the potential to be a solid one if provided with enough time. Apart from what will go down with the fans, some bad booking for the divas match could also fuel the departure rumors of AJ Lee.

She looks extremely unhappy with how the girls are treated in the company and the last thing she would want is an 18 second match at WrestleMania.

#2 Rusev getting a baby face treatment

Rusev is set to have the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania 31. He will lock horns with the Cenation leader at the pay-per-view and the United States Championship will be up for grabs in the match. The whole Anti – American going against a patriotic hero sounds good on paper but since it is John Cena we are talking about, the entire match could bomb.

Anyone who gets pitted up against Cena gets a baby face treatment from the fans since most of them literally hate Cena. It won’t be any different at the Levi’s stadium and WWE should find a way through this.

The Anti- America Russian getting cheered in the United States is not going to do any good for the company as it is bad for business.

#1 Rock helping out Roman Reigns

Just like Rusev, Roman Reigns will also be having his biggest moment on March 29. If things go down as planned, then Reigns would be standing tall with the WWE World Heavyweight championship in his hands in the climax sequence.

WWE would be obviously concerned about fan reactions to the moment and will be tempted to bring back Rock just like they did at Royal Rumble. This however, should be avoided at all costs. Bringing down Rock at the WrestleMania main event will definitely be a short-term problem solver, but in the bigger picture, it only belittles Reigns.

He will be projected as a small child who needs his big brother at all times rather than a warrior who just slayed the beast, which is clearly not what the company wants.
