Mumbai Indians Women is a cricket franchise that won the first edition of the Women’s Premier League in 2023. Also known as MI-W, the team is owned by Reliance Industries which also owns the Mumbai Indians.
The team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur, who is also the skipper of the Indian national women’s team.
History
The Mumbai Indians Women is one of the most successive franchises in the short history of the Women’s Premier League.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led unit became the inaugural champions in 2023 when it defeated the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals Women in the summit clash.
Last year, the Mumbai Indians Women managed to reach the knockout stages but were eventually eliminated from the tournament by the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the Eliminator.
Two years on from their monumental triumph, Harmanpreet and Co. will look to script history once again when they take the field in the third edition of the Women’s Premier League.

The captain will once again be the spearhead of the Mumbai Indians Women in the upcoming season. Having led her side to a title triumph in 2023, Harmanpreet Kaur will look to repeat a similar heist this time around. She will also hope to lead the charge with the bat in her hand. In 22 matches, the hard-hitting middle-order batter has scored 671 runs @41.93/140.67 with six 50+ scores.
#2. Nat Sciver-Brunt

Natalie holds the reputation of being that dangerous power-hitter, best known for demolishing the bowling of the opponent and turning the tides of the game. Well, that’s what every team eyes on having in their playing XI when it comes to T20Is. Sciver has produced consistent knocks in international cricket for England and the Mumbai Indians Women in the WPL over the years. Hayley Matthews is an experienced campaigner who has grown in stature, accounting for stellar performances against the toughest of competitors. Talking of the shortest format of the game, Matthews has played in the WBBL, WPL, Women’s T20 Challenge, WCPL, and many more leagues apart from international cricket. The Caribbean cricketer has featured in 24 matches for the Mumbai Indians Women, scoring 564 runs @24.52/117.50 besides taking 30 wickets in 24 innings @18.40/6.90.
