ATP Thailand Open: Gilles Simon records career 300th win to reach quarter-final

Last year’s runner up Gilles Simon of France reaches quarter final of ATP 250 Thailand Open at Bangkok by defeating Bernard Tomic of Australia by 6-4, 7-5. This win is his 300th win in the ATP tour level.

In another match, defending champion Richard Gasquet of France overcame the challenge of Lokas Lacko of Slovakia by 6-3, 6-2. He took 1 hour and 7 minute to improve his season tally to 40-15.

3rd seed Milos Raonic of Canada took 2 hours and 38 minute to register a hard fought win over Marinko Matosevic of Australia. Raonic defeated Marinko by 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.

Yen Hsun Lu got past eighth seeded Lukas Rosol by 6-3, 6-2 to cement his place in the quarter final. US Open quarterfinalist Mikhail Youzhny of Russia reached the quarter-final after defeating Denis Istomin 6-3, 6-3 in 1 hour 19 minutes.

India’s representative Leander Paes, with his partner Daniele Bracialli, entered in the semis of the Doubles event of the tournament. They beat Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah by 6-7, 7-6, 10-8. They will face third seeded Jamie Murray and John Peers in the semi final today.
