Despite Jannik Sinner ending Carlos Alcaraz's hopes of completing the Sunshine Double, the Spaniard remained gracious in defeat. While exchanging handshakes at the net, Alcaraz said that he would be rooting for Sinner to win the Miami Open title.

"Go for it man, I'll cheer for you," Alcaraz said.

Jannik Sinner will take on Daniil Medvedev in the Miami Open final. This will be their second ATP tour final during the 2023 season after Medvedev emerged victorious in Rotterdam. The Russian currently leads 5-0 in his head-to-head against Sinner.

Should Jannik Sinner win his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami, he will rise to a career-high ranking of World No. 6. Meanwhile, a title win in Miami will lead Daniil Medvedev to make his return to the ATP top 4.
