WWE Money in the Bank 2025 aired just over a day ago, and it was a hit. There were several major moments and matches that likely shifted the direction of RAW and SmackDown moving forward.
A new Women's Intercontinental Champion was crowned, and two stars won the Money in the Bank briefcase: Naomi and Seth Rollins, respectively. That said, the most talked-about moment of the night occurred toward the end of the main event.
Logan Paul and John Cena faced off against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in the last match of the night. Out of nowhere, John was tackled by a masked man. When the mask came off, R-Truth was revealed as the attacker.
R-Truth, also known as Ron Killings, is back in World Wrestling Entertainment. What will the former United States Champion do next? This article will look at a handful of possible directions for Truth following his big return.
Below are four directions for R-Truth following his shocking return at WWE Money in the Bank.
#4. He could feud with and battle John Cena until Night of Champions
John Cena is one of the greatest of all time. He captured the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania, making history in the process. With that win, he obtained the unseen 17, marking his 17th time as World Champion and thus breaking Ric Flair's record.
As noted, R-Truth made his return less than a week after his release from WWE at Money in the Bank by attacking John Cena. This happened after Cena had recently defeated Truth at Saturday Night's Main Event.
It’s clear that Truth and Cena aren't done with each other. The next big premium live event will take place later this month, Night of Champions, in Saudi Arabia. With that in mind, a match between Truth and Cena for the world title at the big event seems quite likely given recent developments.
#3. R-Truth could continue his feud with Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo, but with a twist
While R-Truth's final major match before his contract was set to expire was against John Cena, his actual final bout took place on SmackDown. The former United States Champion battled and lost to the dangerous JC Mateo.
It seemed clear that Truth was going to feud with Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and the new Bloodline in general. However, the news of his WWE contract expiring changed that. Now, with R-Truth back, this storyline could be revived.
Now, however, there's a potential twist. Following Jacob Fatu shockingly turning babyface and taking Solo Sikoa out at Money in the Bank, Truth and Fatu could form an unexpected alliance. The two battling Solo and JC could make for interesting television.
#2. He could have a more serious character and drop the comedy
R-Truth has long been one of WWE's most popular performers, largely due to his silly antics and goofy personality. His character has been hilarious for years, whether in the mid-card, the 24/7 Title division, or as an enhancement talent.
Triple H and WWE could take things in a different direction now, though. R-Truth wasn't joking around Saturday when he returned. He might be embracing a new, more serious character that he hasn't utilized in years. It could even be similar to his Ron Killings persona from the then-NWA-TNA.
It is worth noting that the merchandise promoting R-Truth's return emphasized his real name, Ron Killings. While that doesn't guarantee a major character change, it certainly remains a possibility.
#1. R-Truth could form an anti-WWE stable with other released stars
R-Truth's contract expiring sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe. He wasn't the only name being released, though. Carlito and Valhalla are also leaving the company. Additionally, there have been numerous releases this year.
In what could be an exciting story, R-Truth could start a stable with other stars WWE released or that they have given up on. They could be angry at Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment for their dismissals, leading to a war against RAW and SmackDown as a form of punishment.
As for who the stars could be, there are several interesting options. Dakota Kai and Braun Strowman are two releases that made no sense. Additionally, an up-and-coming star like Jakara Jackson, who was also let go, could have Truth's back. They could also consider someone like The Miz or Karrion Kross, as many people have doubts about their future in the company.
