Triple H is the current Chief Content Officer of WWE. The Game has revolutionized the product since taking over as creative head of the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. Several fans have previously revealed they began rewatching WWE from the time Paul Levesque took over NXT.
Meanwhile, during his decorated in-ring career, The King of Kings made several friends, had innumerable rivalries, and worked his way up the ladder to become one of the biggest names in the promotion's history. Unfortunately, he also had some encounters along the way that led to real-life heat.
Here are four former WWE stars who had real-life heat with The King of Kings:
Is Triple H getting overconfident? Here are the signs!
#4. Ricardo Rodriguez didn't like Triple H's comment about him
Ricardo Rodriguez made his WWE debut on the August 20, 2010, episode of SmackDown as Alberto Del Rio's ring announcer. Furthermore, he helped Del Rio secure victories as well. Ricardo was released by the promotion in April 2014.
During an episode of Cafe de René in December 2023, the 38-year-old revealed that he had real-life heat with Triple H. The Game had claimed Rodriguez looked like a bumblebee, which upset the former WWE personality.
''I mean, I know I'm bigger. I know I'm a wider fella. I'm taller, and I do the lucha stuff. So, I can jump around, and I can fly around, and he [Triple H] had made a comment that I look like a bumblebee, and somewhere along the way he mentioned also Savio. So, he compared me to Savio. I didn't take it that well at the time. So that was pretty much what it was," he revealed.
#3. The Game accused Goldberg of faking an injury
Goldberg and Triple H's real-life heat started when they were working for different promotions.
At Starrcade 1999, Goldberg injured himself in a stunt where he tried to smash the window of a limousine with his arm. The former Universal Champion later heard that The Cerebral Assassin had accused him of faking the injury to avoid being around during WCW's demise.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet in July 2024, Goldberg detailed his past real-life heat with The King of Kings. The former World Heavyweight Champion said he wanted to rip The Game's face off after he heard the above-mentioned allegations. According to Goldberg, he had a confrontation with Triple H before he joined the Sports Entertainment juggernaut.
"He [Triple H] made a comment while I was at home, and I remember it like it was yesterday, and from that second he said I was tanking it or faking it or something, and I wasn't there for the demise of WCW. How could I? So from then on, I wanted to rip his face off. So, we had a confrontation prior to me signing with the WWE," he said.
The duo seems to have moved past that incident, as the WWE Hall of Famer lavished praise on The Game during the same interaction.
#2. Scott Steiner took issue with Triple H burying WCW pro-wrestlers
Scott Steiner's issues with The King of Kings allegedly started in 2002 when Big Bad Booty Daddy was asked to take a drug test. Steiner agreed under the condition that The Game would also have to take a similar test.
The test never happened, and after a lackluster stint, which included a World Heavyweight Championship program with The Cerebral Assassin in 2003, Big Poppa Pump was released from WWE in August 2004 while he was still injured.
This, along with other issues, led to a significant amount of heat towards The Game. During an interview with Sitting Ringside in June 2023, the 62-year-old revealed that WWE booked Triple H to bury every WCW guy just because The Game was connected to Stephanie McMahon.
Steiner also accused Paul Levesque of taking advantage of his position as The Billion Dollar Princess' husband.
“Triple H beat everybody. When a guy’s a mark and he wants to beat everybody, and who is a legitimate pu**y? Of course, it does help b**ging the boss’ daughter. So you know he took advantage of everything that he could. And he beat everybody from WCW; why? They treated everybody like s**t. We’re all in the same business. Wrestling is a small-knit community. It’s a brotherhood. But you’re gonna treat us bad[ly] because we wrestled for somebody else?" he said.
Previously, Steiner had claimed he didn't care about being in the WWE Hall of Fame, but the veteran eventually accepted the honor in 2022.
#1. Late WWE Superstar Chyna was left heartbroken by Triple H
The Cerebral Assassin and The Ninth Wonder of The World were together in real life until Stephanie McMahon was introduced into a romantic storyline with The Game. As it turned out, Triple H and Stephanie fell in love for real, which led to the former parting ways with Chyna.
During an episode of Kliq THIS in September 2022, Chyna's former manager, Anthony Anzaldo, recalled that the former WWE Superstar found out about Triple H's affair with The Billion Dollar Princess after she discovered a letter in The Game's briefcase in which Stephanie had professed her love.
"They were engaged, Triple H and Chyna. He never gave her a ring, but Triple H gave Stephanie a ring. But it was all part of the storyline, but it was real life. So that's when Chyna started to go, 'Is this real?' And he's like, 'Why are you saying that? Don't accuse me.' As few of times as they're actually home together in New Hampshire at their house over the course of 365 days, maybe eight days, she goes to his briefcase and picks the lock and finds a letter from Stephanie professing her love, approaches Hunter and proceeds to get into World War Three,'' he recalled.
It has been said by various individuals that Chyna never got over her breakup with The Game, and she even hurled insults at her former boyfriend and Stephanie after leaving WWE. She tragically passed away in 2016 due to a drug overdose.
