4 storyline ideas for Triple H vs. the Rock in WWE

Triple H and The Rock were long-time rivals while both were active WWE wrestlers. They clashed over major titles for many years until The People's Champion left the company for Hollywood pursuits. The Game remained active until moving behind the scenes.

Once TKO merged UFC with WWE, Vince McMahon was removed from his position. Triple H assumed the head of creative.

In turn, the Rock joined the TKO board, a position that almost allows him to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. That's been evident over the last two years with his interjection into WrestleMania programs.

Former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman claims there's a power struggle between the two behind the scenes. If his intel is true, the struggle between Triple H and The Rock could play out on WWE TV in the next four ways.

#4. RAW vs. SmackDown

Back in the early 2000s, WWE often pitted its GMs against each other for the Survivor Series PPV. If officials agree to have reality mesh into current storylines, this format could be revisited.

This year‘s offering could pit Triple H in charge of RAW against SmackDown, led by The Rock. The Final Boss famously coined the name of the blue brand, so if he is representing a brand, it has to be SmackDown.

The massive showdown could main event a random premium live event, especially by bringing back Bragging Rights or a similar-themed event. It could also be booked inside WarGames, with the winner having the final say in all major decisions.

WarGames has been a huge match that has often been booked to settle major feuds. Angles have also sprung from events that occurred during the steel cage match.

One way Triple H and The Rock could do battle in WWE is via their chosen champions. Once Cody Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns, Triple H was supportive of The American Nightmare.

The Rock was heavily involved in preventing Cody from winning the Undisputed WWE Title. He interjected himself again this year after Rhodes had carried the company for the second half of 2024.

After a random complimentary promo on RAW on Netflix, Rocky tried to corrupt The American Nightmare.

The Rock could be in John Cena’s corner with Triple H in Rhodes' corner in another showdown. The winner would have the power to run WWE as he sees fit.

Another easy way for the two to do battle would be to have Team Rock versus Team Triple H at Survivor Series: WarGames. This would force The Game to select members of the current roster whom he trusts.

Those stars would stand up for WWE against The Final Boss and his reign of terror. Names like Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, CM Punk, Randy Orton, and others would have to make a huge decision.

Do they want to help the company they built, or do they want to sell out and join The Final Boss's team for better glory?

Logan Paul, The Miz, and other suck ups could joins Rock's team since they claimed they'd sell their souls when Cody refused.

#1. Revamping the Bloodline

Since The Rock was initially brought back into the fold creatively with the Bloodline, he could assume control of the group, superseding the entire Tribal Chief dynamic.

Ahead of RAW on Netflix, he randomly posted how he was awarded special Tribal Chief status over two decades ago. Was that tease a seed for a future storyline in 2025, or another random accolade to make himself seem impressive again?

This would force Solo Sikoa, his minions, and possibly Jimmy Uso and any other OG Bloodline members to make a choice. Should they stay loyal to their familial Bloodline and join The Rock?

Should they fight back against his megalomaniacal actions to save the company and the sport they love? Promoters love stipulations, and one could be that the Bloodline must disband forever if they lose a planned match against a team saving WWE.
