4 WWE superstars who missed recent Live Events & their injury status

Has the injury bug returned for another spell in WWE?
Has the injury bug returned for another spell in WWE?

As WrestleMania season approaches, WWE needs their top superstars to be in prime shape for the 'Show of Shows'. Unfortunately, it does seem alarming that 4 top superstars missed WWE Live Events quite recently. One does hope that the injuries are not serious. One also wonders which of them are 'worked' injuries.

Let's send our best wishes to the Superstars mentioned in this article. The scariest bit is that each one of them is a top player. None of the Superstars involved is replaceable from the larger scheme of things.

With Dean Ambrose's future uncertain, these could be worrying times for WWE on the road to WrestleMania 35. Without further ado, let's look at which Superstars missed Live events and the possible reasons that they did.

Thankfully, one of them seems to be a 'work'.

#4 Sasha Banks

So Sasha Banks may have been injured after her tryst with Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble. As impressive as she was in her outing, it does seem like Banks may be a little banged up following her performance. John Pollock of Post Wrestling had the following to say about Banks' status:

“Sasha Banks was not cleared after her match with Ronda Rousey last Sunday at the Royal Rumble, but she is expected to be cleared for Monday’s Raw and her tag match with Bayley against Nikki Cross and Alicia Fox.”

The match between Banks and Rousey seemed physical and it now seems like it was just as physical as it came across on screen. Banks may be a little sore and was given time to recover from injury.

Thankfully she seems to be okay for now. Let's hope she is 100% when she competes to qualify for the Women's Tag Team match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

#3 Becky Lynch

We saw Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair get into a physical battle on SmackDown Live. Lynch hobbled to the back where she drove away, despite the fact that she was hurt.

This seemed like a storyline from the word go, but the alarm bells rang when she missed Live Events this weekend. But it seems like Becky Lynch is selling her injury, but is not legitimately injured.

This is obviously a stroke of good news for both WWE and the WWE Universe because Becky Lynch is on a tear right now and is positioned as the top dog in the company. Had Lynch been injured, the WrestleMania 35 main event match would have been in peril.

Cageside Seats also speculates that her worked injury will be used on television, to further her ongoing storyline with Rousey.

#2 Seth Rollins

It seems like winning the Royal Rumble could be a sign of bad luck for WWE Superstars. Seth Rollins was another Superstar that missed two Live Events, despite the fact that he was advertised to be on both. And from the looks of it, Rollins could be out for a while now.

John Pollock of Post Wrestling had the following to say about Seth Rollins' current condition:

He is off live events for the time being and not expected to be used on Raw this Monday to recover. We were told that he will only be doing promos with no physicality for the next month on television

This is obviously worrying news for WWE because Seth Rollins is the top male superstar on RAW and the anchor of the brand since Reigns' departure. Please get well soon, Mr Kingslayer!

#1 AJ Styles

Let's hope The Phenomenal One is healthy by the time that Elimination Chamber comes around
Let's hope The Phenomenal One is healthy by the time that Elimination Chamber comes around

It may seem at first that SmackDown got off easy with regard to the injuries. But the truth of the matter is that the top male superstar in the brand may be banged up too. Luckily his injury does not seem to be serious either. He's expected to be on SmackDown Live, this week.

This is what John Pollock of Post Wrestling had to say about AJ Styles' current status:

AJ Styles was dinged up recently but should be cleared by Tuesday for the television tapings.

Styles is one of the contenders who will be competing for the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber alongside current Champion Daniel Bryan, Mustafa Ali, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. He's one of the key players on SmackDown Live and his absence will certainly be felt if his injuries do worsen.

I wish each one of the names mentioned a very speedy recovery from real and/or worked injuries.
