Chris Jericho and Mike Tyson may wrestle in an AEW ring soon!

From The Revival debuting in AEW as #FTR to a heated confrontation between Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho at the end of the episode, this week's edition of AEW Dynamite featured many contrasting moments.

After all the craziness we witnessed at AEW Double or Nothing 2020, the company followed up with a newsworthy episode of Dynamite on TNT. This promotion has been climbing up the charts ever since its inception, and the final few moments of this week's show may be the ultimate cross-promotional event AEW needed all along.

Here are the five biggest news stories from this week's episode of AEW Dynamite (May 27, 2020).

#5: The Revival debuted as FTR and faced off against The Young Bucks

The Revival crossing over to AEW wasn't just a huge treat for Pro-Wrestling fans, but hardcore followers of Being the Elite were delighted over an unexpected confrontation between The Young Bucks and FTR (formerly known as The Revival in WWE).

The former WWE tag team has been mentioned on Being The Elite in a heated way several times before, and it was just good to see all those moments lead to an inevitable showdown between the aforementioned teams.

The Young Bucks & Matt Hardy defeated Private Party & Joey Janela at the beginning of the episode. During the match, Matt & Nick Jackson had an unfortunate scuffle with Butcher & The Blade near ringside.

This resulted in a brawl after the match was over, and FTR unexpectedly saved The Young Bucks instead.

However, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (FKA Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) made it clear that they weren't picking sides anytime soon. It should be interesting to see if they end up being heels or babyfaces in the next few weeks.

#4: Jon Moxley scouted Brian Cage for their AEW World title match at Fyter Fest

The fate of Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship was determined at the company's Double or Nothing event this year.

As Moxley defeated Brodie Lee in a grueling battle, Brian Cage made his AEW debut earlier in the night and defeated the rest of the pack to win AEW's Casino Ladder Match.

By winning the Casino Ladder Match, Brian Cage bought himself a ticket to challenge Moxley for the AEW World title at any future date. Moxley joined commentary and scouted Brian Cage from a distance this week.

Cage obliterated Lee Johnson to secure another victory, and after it was all over, Tazz had a few harsh words for Jon Moxley.

The Master of Unscripted Violence has been at a disadvantage ever since he won the AEW World title. Moxley overcame the threat of bigger challengers like Jake Hager and Brodie Lee, but it looks like that trend won't go away anytime soon.

Tazz warned Moxley that Cage will decimate the Champion at Fyter Fest, and the challenger might be his biggest and toughest challenge to date.

#3: Cody announced a weekly open challenge for the TNT Championship

Cody, the son of Dusty Rhodes, was always subject to criticism, even when AEW Dynamite started airing on TNT.

Not only does he hold backstage responsibilities, but Cody has to back it up in the ring as well. He defeated Lance Archer in the final round of the TNT Championship Tournament at Double or Nothing, and even that got some criticism from AEW fans.

As much as one would like to believe that Cody was served this position on a silver platter, that is simply not the case. He cut a passionate promo about how holding such a title comes with certain responsibilities as well, and in order to make his TNT title run memorable, Cody issued a weekly open challenge to prove his critics wrong.

Sure, Lance Archer's momentum may have suffered a little in order to make this happen, but after this week's AEW Dynamite, it became clear that AEW management had big plans in store, and Cody was the perfect representative of what TNT expects from AEW's weekly content.

#2: Jungle Boy will be first in line to face Cody for the TNT Championship next week

AEW conducted a Battle Royal Match to determine the first Superstar who will get an opportunity to face Cody for the TNT title on next week's episode.

MJF was the clear favorite going into this bout, and we even saw a pre-match video where MJF made sure that Wardlow will be at his side. However, if it came down to both of them, MJF wanted to ensure that his bodyguard will step away. Wardlow wasn't too sure that would be the case.

We never got to see what would actually happen if it came down to MJF and Wardlow in the end, because they got eliminated earlier, and it was Jungle Boy who eliminated Orange Cassidy in a creative finish to secure a future TNT title match on AEW Dynamite.

There were separate plot threads running throughout this match, which always makes AEW Battle Royal bouts different and more engaging.

Jungle Boy's victory was unexpected, but in the end, Cody's TNT title run is all about securing a bigger spotlight for younger AEW stars right now.

#1: Mike Tyson sparked a massive brawl against Chris Jericho at the end of the episode

What strikes me as odd and interesting is that WWE RAW ended with a similar brawl between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley this week. AEW managed to accomplish the same in a more newsworthy way, especially with names like Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho involved.

The Inner Circle gathered around for a self-pity party after losing to The Elite at AEW Double or Nothing.

Despite all the gifts, what Jericho really wanted was to beat up Mike Tyson. Apparently, his bitterness against Tyson goes way back to 2010, when the boxing legend betrayed Chris Jericho in a tag team match on WWE RAW, and Le Champion has the opportunity to get revenge after Tyson's latest appearance at Double or Nothing.

So to continue this storyline on AEW is purely surreal.

It looks like Mike Tyson has more business to do with the company. Perhaps that business will lead to an inter-promotional match between Jericho and Tyson, and for better or worse, this may certainly go down as one of the biggest turning points in AEW history.
