Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo chose to avenge Rey Mysterio's grave injury by facing Seth Rollins' disciples (Murphy & Austin Theory) in tag team action on WWE RAW.
Despite being The Monday Night Messiah's latest disciple, Austin Theory impressed Rollins by picking up the victory for his team.
WWE also featured a simultaneous plot thread where Rollins thanked Rey Mysterio for enlightening him towards a new future. But after the tag team match, the Messiah ordered his disciples to damage Carrillo's eye the same way he did to Mysterio two weeks ago.
Rollins put Carrillo's career on the line if Aleister Black would choose to interfere and save his tag team partner.
In the end, Rollins spared another victim, but WWE later announced that Rey Mysterio's "retirement ceremony" will take place next week.
The whole affair seems like a setup for this particular WWE storyline. Rollins will be the host of Rey Mysterio's retirement ceremony, and it is very likely that won't be the last time we will be seeing Mysterio on WWE TV.
