5 Opponents for Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35

Well, who's in the WWE Championship picture at WrestleMania 35?
Well, who's in the WWE Championship picture at WrestleMania 35?

So we know now that Seth Rollins is facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. And that begs the question about the WWE Championship picture at WrestleMania 35. Who is next in line to take on Daniel Bryan? I can only speculate in this article for now.

Needless to say, there isn't as much excitement around the WWE Championship as there is around the Universal Championship. Bryan has done a commendable job in his new heel avatar, but somehow the heat it generates makes you want to switch off the show. It does not make you want to see the man beaten in a fight, like classic Vince McMahon promos.

But Bryan is one of the best WWE superstars in the world and I'm certain he could have many fantastic matches at WrestleMania 35. Let me suggest a few of them in this very piece.

Feel free to go crazy and suggest your dream matches in the comments section below.

#5 Rey Mysterio

People Rey Mysterio's age should not be able to move the way that he does. But the fact of the matter is that Rey Mysterio is probably wrestling the best that he's ever been all through his career, as evidenced by his series of matches against Andrade 'Cien' Almas on SmackDown Live. He could create the same magic with Bryan.

Bryan and Mysterio cannot have a bad match, even if they tried to. It's also a great chance to have older fans tune in and catch their favourite superstar- Rey Mysterio get another shot at the title. Win or lose, you know both men are guaranteed to steal the show.

Bryan should win this match if it actually does happen. Mysterio could pass the torch to the younger competitor in this manner.

#4 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan are certainly no strangers to one another at all. The two men were once allied in the same faction, under the banner of the Wyatt family. Daniel Bryan broke the chains and proved to the world that he couldn't be ensnared by Bray Wyatt.

Now that Erick Rowan has returned to his side, it makes me think that there may be a bigger storyline at play here with Bray Wyatt too. Could Wyatt return to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship for WrestleMania 35? For the first time in his career, he could go into WrestleMania as the babyface in a title match.

It will be great to see Wyatt win the title at long last. Defeating Bryan, in this case, will make the WWE Universe very happy indeed.

#3 Jeff Hardy

Could Hardy have yet another magical WrestleMania moment this year?
Could Hardy have yet another magical WrestleMania moment this year?

Jeff Hardy had quite the feud with Randy Orton, earlier this year. Much like Mysterio, Hardy is hungrier than ever before to leave a lasting legacy.

Throw him into the mix with someone like Daniel Bryan and you have the recipe for a great storyline. Is the facepaint that Hardy applies eco-friendly?

Daniel Bryan could pick on such elements of Hardy's appearance and also focus on his dark past for fodder to fuel the feud all the way to WrestleMania 35. We know that both men can go and also that Jeff Hardy commands a whole army of 'creatures of the night' who will spur him on to Championship glory.

Yet again, if I were the man in charge of creative calls, I'd have Jeff Hardy lose to Daniel Bryan in this particular encounter. Having a legend put him over would do wonders for Daniel Bryan's character.

#2 Shawn Michaels

Could teacher and student clash in this dream encounter?
Could teacher and student clash in this dream encounter?

Shawn Michaels and Daniel Bryan have quite the history together. Shawn Michaels was retired when a confrontation between teacher and student was teased the last time around. We know that he is an active competitor now based on his performance at Crown Jewel.

And this makes me believe that WWE wouldn't be opposed to a match between Bryan and Michaels. Both men are two of the greatest ever and they could tear it up inside the squared circle. Michaels has said that he wants to compete with fellow legends, but he may make an exception when it comes to Daniel Bryan, because of their past.

In fact, Shawn Michaels is a hunter and we know that Bryan is all about preventing animal cruelty. I believe we're heading in this very direction. And how good will the match between these two men be!

#1 John Cena

Could John Cena win his 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 35?
Could John Cena win his 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 35?

So, I did not mention AJ Styles in this list because I think that he will be kept away from the title picture for some time now. I'm not mentioning Mustafa Ali as a possible contender because it's far too soon for him to get a title match at WrestleMania. Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Randy Orton are both heels, and so is Bryan. And so is Samoa Joe.

But then again, John Cena could certainly make a return to competition at WrestleMania 35 to take Bryan on. We all know that he could become a 17-time Champion at the said event. And if he does, he will overtake Ric Flair's long-standing record.

The very idea of this big match could help in selling a lot of WrestleMania 35 tickets. Cena vs. Bryan is a huge match.
