One of the most controversially booked WWE Superstars, Braun Strowman, suffered a defeat in his ‘special attraction’ contest against Tyson Fury at WWE Crown Jewel 2019. Strowman tried his best to keep the professional boxer down, however, the company followed its practice of allowing celebrities to go over their mainstay Superstars, as Tyson Fury overpowered the former RAW Tag Team Champion by count-out.

As per the rumor mill, 'The Gypsy King' will head back to the world of boxing while Strowman is currently directionless on SmackDown. Strowman was unfortunately unavailable for the Blue brand's last episode, as he found himself stuck in Saudi Arabia.

With the Survivor Series pay-per-view approaching, creative will look to book Strowman dominantly, so that his character remains relevant on Friday nights. Here are five potential storylines for 'The Monster Among Men' after his setback at Crown Jewel.

#5 Join 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt

WWE shocked the wrestling world by crowning Bray Wyatt as the new Universal Champion at Crown Jewel. Fans expected creative to transfer him to RAW after he secured the Red brand’s world title, however, WWE has allowed him to stick around on Friday nights by sending WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to the ‘A Show' instead.

Now that Wyatt has reached the pinnacle of WWE, writers will try to add new dimensions to his character and attract more eyes to SmackDown. Since fans have been craving a Wyatt Family reunion, WWE can book Braun Strowman to become The Fiend’s new partner. After all, Wyatt was the one who introduced 'The Monster' to the WWE Universe.

Formerly known as 'The Black Sheep,' Braun can turn into Wyatt's insurance policy and can stand up for the Universal Champion when he is in the Firefly Fun House. This way, the Greatest Royal Rumble winner can linger in the main event picture and then WWE may set up a betrayal angle to kick off a huge rivalry between Wyatt and Strowman.

#4 Feud with Drew Gulak

This is perhaps the least appealing option

Looking at the way things have panned out on WWE TV, it seems like creative is beginning a rivalry between former 205 Live star Drew Gulak and 'The Monster Among Men' Braun Strowman. There have been no reports or backstage updates about why WWE is booking this contest, but seeing how Gulak took a jab at Strowman after his loss at Crown Jewel, it seems like the feud between the two Superstars is far from over.

The conflict might not go as planned for the two Superstars because savvy fans know that WWE is booking this contest for Strowman to bulldoze his foe in order to get fans to forget about his Crown Jewel failure.

While Gulak has been getting TV time because of this, the Cruiserweight deserves better booking. He should be engaging in feuds with the likes of Ali, Shorty G, or even Daniel Bryan, but he is just not ready to contend with Braun Strowman.

As WWE has to book three SmackDown episodes before Survivor Series, fans should not be astonished, if Braun and Gulak wrestle each other during this time period.

#3 Represent Team SmackDown in a traditional Survivor Series match

Although it has not been made official yet, WWE will likely announce a 5 on 5 Tag Team Elimination Match for Survivor Series 2019. Because NXT is also in the mix this year, the WWE Universe may get a 5 vs 5 vs 5 Match as well. Generally, these matches concentrate on how rivals neglect their enmity and work as a well-oiled machine for their respective brand’s cause.

WWE revived the ‘Brand Supremacy’ concept in 2016 and Braun Strowman has been a part of all the three 5-on-5 matches since then. This is the first time he finds himself on the Blue brand and given how popular he is, the writers would look to have him on Team SmackDown.

Braun has repeatedly received strong booking at this particular pay-per-view event, as he had scored 8 eliminations for Team RAW in the 3 matches he took part in. As there is a possibility that 15 men will share the ring this year, expect 'The Monster Among Men' to record more eliminations and turn the tables in favor of Team SmackDown.

#2 Traitor storyline?

Will Braun Strowman stay loyal to RAW?
Will Braun Strowman stay loyal to RAW?

WWE reportedly planned a ‘traitor’ storyline for Survivor Series last year, where one member of the SmackDown roster would warn RAW about the upcoming invasion. However, WWE cancelled those plans much to everyone’s disappointment. This storyline would have helped in setting up a long-term feud, so WWE should utilize this theory for Survivor Series 2019.

Since Braun Strowman had been a part of the RAW roster for three years, WWE can simply book a reasonable betrayal angle where 'The Monster Among Men' would pass on some secret information to the Red brand. Also, WWE can spice up the competition by bringing the USA Network executives into the mix. Since USA owns the television rights to both RAW and NXT, they could offer a significant chunk of change to SmackDown team member Braun Strowman in order to get him to under perform at Survivor Series.

This storyline would draw a lot of attention toward Strowman. If WWE books this angle, it could benefit all the three brands. So, whether it is staying dutiful to his previous brand or selling out his integrity for money, Strowman’s future can become much more exciting, if WWE pushes him in a ‘traitor’ storyline.

#1 Win the Intercontinental Championship

If you have been watching WWE over the last three or four years, then you may know that the company often changes its champions just a few days prior to Survivor Series.

Fans have seen in the past how Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles lost their WWE Championship on the go-home SmackDown show, while Natalya once lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte because WWE chose to fend off a Survivor Series Heel vs Heel Match featuring Natalya and the then RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss.

Apart from the 5-on-5 matches, WWE also books Champion vs Champion contests at Survivor Series. At the moment, the heel Superstars are holding the mid-card titles of all three brands. AJ Styles is the United States Champion on RAW, Shinsuke Nakamura is holding the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown, and Roderick Strong is the NXT North American Champion.

While these Superstars are immensely talented and can tear the house down on November 24th, WWE will consider including the heel-face dynamic by having a title change. Among the three champions, Nakamura has the highest chances of dropping his championship because Strowman is now a Blue brand competitor.

Braun Strowman can step up and secure his first singles title in WWE to advance to the ‘Champion vs Champion vs Champion’ match and since he has some bad blood with AJ Styles in the past, this bout will generate a lot more interest.
