5 reasons why Dean Ambrose leaving WWE is a good thing

Even now, there might be fans who think that Dean Ambrose isn’t leaving WWE. But on the recent episode of Raw, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns said farewell to their buddy, Ambrose.

The Lunatic Fringe didn’t have a match at WrestleMania and was completely destroyed by Bobby Lashley, even though the Almighty One made lewd comments towards Dean Ambrose’s wife, Renee Young, which under normal circumstances would have led to Ambrose desecrating Lashley.

The way Dean Ambrose is leaving has put a really bad taste in the mouth as this is someone who has won the Grand Slam in WWE and remains one of its best Superstars. Even then, however, Dean Ambrose's departure might just turn out to be a good decision for everyone involved – and here are 5 reasons why.

#5 Very stacked roster

They could easily make a third brand to accompany Raw and SmackDown

This has been a boon as well as a curse for WWE. They have so many Superstars at their disposal in just the main roster that they could easily make a third brand to accompany Raw and SmackDown.

The benefits of having such a huge pool of talent are that they can make multiple storylines and try a lot of creative things should they want to. However, since TV time can only be so much, it is the opposite that almost always happens.

WWE can’t seem to fit everyone on TV – despite the fact that the current talent pool is perhaps the best the WWE has ever had in terms of in-ring ability. With such a great flock of talents, it is always difficult to distribute the limelight properly.

And this had been the case with Dean Ambrose.

#4 WWE Creative are not sure what to do with him

Since Dean Ambrose's return from injury, things got worse in a storyline sense
Since Dean Ambrose's return from injury, things got worse in a storyline sense

Ever since The Shield reunited in 2017, the creative hasn't been pinpoint in their direction with regards to Dean Ambrose. He had bouts against the New Day as a member of The Shield and was then injured for 9 months back in December 2017.

Since Dean Ambrose's return from injury, things got worse in a storyline sense as he became a mere helper to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in their singles matches. Then finally, in October 2018, the Lunatic Fringe turned heel after attacking Rollins, a move that neither superstar wanted.

Since then, the cluelessness surrounding Dean Ambrose's character became even more intense as the fans didn’t really react well to his heel turn. Dean Ambrose became somewhat of a tweener who looked like he was struggling with personality disorders and that was about it before he turned face again.

He was then used as a jobber due to his contractual situation.

#3 Recuperation

For starters, this is a man who had to be in recovery for around 9 months after injuring his tricep. Being out of action and in recovery for such a long time can be physically and mentally draining.

On top of that, the lack of direction in Dean Ambrose's character could have further aggravated the frustration that had been boiling within him. As a result, Dean Ambrose might now take some time off to relax and mentally recuperate.

#2 Reinvention

Evolution is important
Evolution is important

This is a very important aspect for a wrestler. Times keep changing and it is imperial that a superstar also evolves with it.

When WWE released Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, the duo completely transformed themselves on the independent circuit.

They reinvented their physiques and became huge in stature.

#1 Reunion

The Shield
The Shield

There is never an ending with WWE. Once someone is tied with them, there is always a chance for the partnership to never end – even if that said someone is released by the company.

Apropos to the example in the previous slide, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were brought back to the WWE and their new outlook made the company push them.

Heck, Mahal even won the WWE Championship to become its 50th winner. McIntyre meanwhile, is one of the best heels in the company and is almost certain to be pushed somewhere down the line.

So, who knows, Dean Ambrose could follow the same path and return to the WWE better than ever, because unlike Mahal and McIntyre, the Lunatic Fringe leaves the company as an established star with nothing to prove (also, WWE didn’t release Dean Ambrose, he is leaving them).

Imagine the pop when/if Dean Ambrose returns!
