The 35th edition of this year's WrestleMania event is drawing nearer and nearer as only a few weeks are left until we finally get to witness The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment and The Showcase of the Immortals. The event is scheduled to take place this April live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

There are currently 17 matches that are rumored to take place at the event. WrestleMania is known for a lot of things; iconic matches, classic bouts, memorable moments, history-making, The Undertaker's streak, and unexpected twists.

The Show of Shows is the biggest platform in WWE for Superstars to showcase their skills and abilities to the whole world, as well as making a face/heel turn more memorable as fans least expect it and people get to talk about it for years to come. Some of the most recent shockers WWE pulled-of at WrestleMania was at WrestleMania 34 last year.

Shinsuke Nakamura shockingly turned heel by hitting AJ Styles where the sun doesn't shine and Asuka's two-year plus winning streak shockingly came to an end at the hands of Charlotte Flair. Many things are expected to go down at this year's event, and WWE will deliver more shocking twists that will send fans home thinking "What just happened?"

With that being said, here are five shocking twists that WWE can (and probably will) pull-off at WrestleMania 35.

#5 Ronda Rousey retains the Raw Women's Championship

The WWE Universe won't be happy
The WWE Universe won't be happy

Everyone is expecting Becky Lynch to defeat Ronda Rousey and become the new Raw Women's Champion at WrestleMania 35. But what if that doesn't happen? What if Ronda retains? Last year in the main event of WrestleMania 34, everyone thought that Roman Reigns was going to finally defeat Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion. Did it happen? No. Lesnar retained.

The same thing can happen with this match. Ronda Rousey is undefeated in WWE, and she could stay that way if she comes out victorious and retains her title. It can happen. And if it does, fans will break out into rebellious mobs and put an end to the event. No one will be happy and fans will go home disappointed again.

#3 Asuka loses the SmackDown Women's Championship (2 WrestleMania losses in a row)

Oh, Asuka...
Oh, Asuka...

Last year at WrestleMania 34, another undefeated streak came to an end at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome when Asuka lost her SmackDown Women's Championship match to Charlotte Flair. Not a lot of people expected this to happen because Asuka was portrayed as an unbeatable dominant force and no one expected her undefeated streak to come to an end that quickly.

This year, The Empress of Tomorrow is heading into The Show of Shows as SmackDown Women's Champion, but the big question is, will she hold onto the title or will she lose it? Asuka's WrestleMania 35 opponent isn't confirmed yet. She was rumored to face Lacey Evans but it looks like that won't be happening.

She was also rumored to defend her title in a triple threat match against Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. It doesn't matter who her opponent is, what matters is that she holds onto that title for much more longer. If Asuka losses her second WrestleMania match, it will ruin her completely and she'll no longer look as strong as she was when she first debuted.

#4 John Cena is revealed as Kurt Angle's opponent at WrestleMania

This is the match we want
This is the match we want

Kurt Angle revealed his WrestleMania opponent to be none other than former Raw Constable Baron Corbin. Fans were not happy with this decision, as many wanted Angle's final opponent to be a 'high profile' Superstar such as John Cena. Angle was Cena's first opponent in WWE, and Cena should've been Angle's last opponent.

But instead, of all people, WWE chose Baron Corbin. While these two did feud on Raw in the past, Angle deserves to win or lose to someone worthy of being going up against, someone with Ruthless Aggression, and that man is John Cena. That doesn't mean its too late for the match to happen.

Let's just hope that WWE is just pulling our leg and Angle won't face Corbin at WrestleMania. Let's hope the company announces before or during 'Mania that Angle will go against John Cena instead. This will make fans happy and we will have a WrestleMania worthy match and a WrestleMania worthy opponent for Kurt Angle.

#2 Raw Women's Championship triple threat match doesn't main event WrestleMania 35

What if this match doesn't headline Mania?
What if this match doesn't headline Mania?

The hottest feud heading into WrestleMania 35 is the triple threat Raw Women's Championship match between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. This match is expected to main event the show, and if it does, it'll be the first women's match to do so. What if Vince McMahon changes his mind and makes Brock vs Seth or Roman vs McIntyre the main event instead.

Vince changes his mind all the time, and there's nothing stopping him from doing so. We could go into WrestleMania fully expecting the women's match to close the show, only for us to feel robbed and disgusted with the sudden change of the card. Fans in the arena and fans watching at home will become angry and they would switch off their TV's or computers.

Vince McMahon can go as low as possible by doing something like this, as he is portrayed as a person with a thick skull and a heart made of stone on TV.

#1 Brock Lesnar retains the Universal Championship

Can Seth Rollins slay the beast?
Can Seth Rollins slay the beast?

Seth Rollins won this year's men's Royal Rumble match and is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Some of the Superstars who failed to take the title from Lesnar are Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Finn Balor. All these men could not take the Big Red Belt from The Beast.

A lot of fans believe Seth Rollins is going to beat Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Universal Champion, but in WWE, anything can happen and plans may change anytime. The Beast could come out victorious again for the second time in a row.

Fans will be frustrated and Lesnar will be booed out of the building. Perhaps Mr. McMahon could keep the title on Lesnar to prevent him from competing in other promotions like UFC or AEW. If this happens, WrestleMania 35 will be one of the worst WrestleManias in WWE history.
