5 Surprises that could take place on the upcoming WWE RAW episode

Could we see two superstars return after missing months of action?
Could we see two superstars return after missing months of action?

Do you feel it as well? We are on the road to WrestleMania and the excitement is quite palpable indeed for the WWE Universe. Two matches are set in stone for WrestleMania already. Becky Lynch will take on Ronda Rousey for the prestigious RAW Women's Championship while Seth Rollins will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

To maintain the same level of excitement in the WWE Universe, RAW would do well to book a few surprises on next week's show. Every surprise becomes a peg that brings viewers back to watch and enjoy the product. I will suggest a few interesting scenarios in this special feature.

Let me know your thoughts and views on my suggestions. Also be sure to suggest some surprises of your own as well.

It's always fun to pretend you're in the WWE Creative team, once in a while.

#5 Yet another WWE legend returns to confront Elias

Could yet another legend return at the conclusion of this match?
Could yet another legend return at the conclusion of this match?

At the Royal Rumble, we saw Elias and Jeff Jarrett have a little bit of an altercation. The same would continue on RAW as well when Road Dogg returned, much to the delight of the WWE Universe. A match between Jeff Jarrett and Elias was then made official for RAW next week.

In all likelihood, Elias is going to win the match against the seasoned veteran on this week's show. At the end of the match, as Elias stands tall, he is going to inflict punishment upon Jeff Jarrett and Road Dogg. And then another WWE legend could return to clear the ring out for Elias.

It would be really entertaining to see someone like The Honky Tonk Man return. Three generations of music based gimmicks in the ring would be quite wonderful.

#4 Ronda Rousey goes heel, aligns with Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon and Ronda Rousey could have a plan for 'The Man'

The whole thing feels like a setup to me. Stephanie McMahon has invited Becky Lynch to RAW after what went down between Rousey and 'The Man' last week. Could this be the setup for Ronda Rousey to go heel and align herself with Stephanie McMahon?

It is clear that the audience will be firmly on Lynch's side because she's simply on a red hot streak right now and can do no wrong. On the other hand, Ronda Rousey seemed quite rattled as a babyface when the crowd turned against her on RAW. It makes all the sense in the world for her to go heel before the WrestleMania match comes around.

The remaining MMA Horsewomen are all heels. And WWE Horsewomen are all faces. And therefore, this transition certainly makes much sense.

#3 Braun Strowman finds himself a new friend

This could be a great storyline to elevate Apollo Crews
This could be a great storyline to elevate Apollo Crews

Last week on RAW, we saw the glimpse of a new heel alliance. Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre have come together to form a similar unit to the one that existed when Corbin was the acting General Manager.

Now Braun Strowman can take most men on his own. But even he may be outmatched by the might of Corbin and Drew McIntyre.

We know that Nicholas won't come to his aid again as he's a kid and he's in school. This could, therefore, be a great opportunity to launch someone like Apollo Crews to main event status by having him team with Braun Strowman.

Crews has always been on the verge of greatness, but never quite managed to grab the brass ring. This could be his opportunity to elevate himself to the next level.

#2 Ambrose takes on Nia Jax

This could be a great way to embarrass Dean Ambrose
This could be a great way to embarrass Dean Ambrose

Nia Jax may be a superstar known for causing a spate of injuries, but she's also creating history right now. By entering the men's Royal Rumble, she has opened the doors to what could be a new era in wrestling. Inter-gender wrestling may have been a staple of the independents, but WWE never really embraced it in the modern era.

We saw her have an interesting face-off with Dean Ambrose recently. We know that Ambrose is on his way out of the company right now. Could WWE write him off television for a while by having Nia Jax squash him in the middle of the ring?

Of course, Ambrose will make other appearances before WrestleMania, but the damage will have been done to him. WWE is never kind to superstars on their way out. Just ask Bret 'The Hitman' Hart.

#1 Owens and Zayn return to take out Seth Rollins

Lesnar won't show up on RAW every week and Rollins needs new opponents
Lesnar won't show up on RAW every week and Rollins needs new opponents

When Owens and Zayn take each other on, it's amazing. But when they are aligned as one, they are unstoppable. Could the awesome twosome return to RAW next week? And could they set their sights on Seth Rollins?

Of course, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn could return to reinforce the Tag Team Division on RAW. They could return to exact revenge on Bobby Lashley, the man who wrote both men off television for many months. But in my opinion, attacking Seth Rollins may honestly be the best use of their talents.

Lesnar is not going to show up on RAW every single week and Rollins needs to keep things interesting. Owens and Zayn could be great antagonists for him.

What would you like to see Owens and Zayn do when they return?
