During the build-up to TakeOver: In Your House, saying that things were chaotic would be an understatement. NXT Superstars essentially ran wild all over the CWC. They did whatever they wanted to and many attacked each other before their respective title matches.

Before fans knew what the NXT Championship match would be, chaos surrounded the triple threat to determine the challenger for Karrion Kross. Pete Dunne, Johnny Gargano and Kyle O'Reilly battled each other for the right to face Kross at TakeOver: In Your House.

The match went on and on but was called off after Adam Cole assaulted all three men. His attack led to Kross demanding that all four men get in the ring with him at TakeOver: In Your House. His wish was granted, but William Regal was unable to keep things under control at every turn.

One of the five participants would attack another as Regal and his security struggled to keep things civil. Ember Moon and Gonzalez also attacked each other at various stages leading up to TakeOver: In Your House.

During the NXT Women's title match, even Shotzi Blackheart and Dakota Kai battled into the backstage area following Gonzalez's win. With so much chaos surrounding his Superstars, Regal looked dejected as McKenzie Mitchell attempted to get a word.

In the parking lot, Regal said he hasn't had control of the situation for a long time. He also claimed that it might be time for a change in NXT. He didn't outright say it, but it sounded an awful lot like he was stepping down as NXT GM.

Immediately following TakeOver: In Your House, rumors started to run rampant surrounding potential replacements for Regal. Some suggested that Samoa Joe could be returning to NXT as the new GM. Others claimed he was simply returning for some type of role with NXT after being seen at the WWE Performance Center.

Whatever happens, fans can expect some sort of shake-up within the power structure of NXT. It could mean a new GM or that Joe is temporarily taking control while Regal sorts things out.
