5 Things that could happen at WWE Extreme Rules 2019

A lot can do down at Extreme Rules this Sunday
A lot can do down at Extreme Rules this Sunday

WWE Extreme Rules is right around the corner and Superstars from Raw, SmackDown Live and 205 Live will be battling for glory with weapons such as chairs, tables, ladders and kendo sticks at their disposal. At the event, championships will be defended and feuds will be settled.

Seth Rollins will team up with his girlfriend Becky Lynch to take on the despised duo of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans in an Extreme Rules Winner Takes All mixed match for the Universal and Raw Women's Championship. Bayley will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a two-on-one handicap match.

The Undertaker will come out from the darkness to team up with his old nemesis Roman Reigns to take on the heelish team of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred match, which means anything goes. Kofi Kingston will put his WWE Championship on the line against Samoa Joe, AJ Styles will challenge Ricochet for the US title and Aleister Black will make his in-ring return and much more.

A lot could happen at the PPV this Sunday. While fans are always open to surprises, a lot of unexpected things can happen and WWE has given multiple surprises in the past. Extreme Rules will be a good show if WWE takes the right step. So, here are five things that could happen at this year's Extreme Rules.

#5 The Usos win the Raw Tag Team Championships

The Usos should win the Raw Tag Team Championships
The Usos should win the Raw Tag Team Championships

The tag team division on the main roster needs a facelift and for that to happen, the team leading the tag team division needs to be really good. Is there any other tag team better than The Usos? The Usos are former SmackDown Tag Team Champions and when they held the titles they made it mean something. They had great runs with the title and they were a dominant tag team on the blue brand.

When they arrived on Raw, however, they didn't receive the same booking they received on SmackDown, and they were involved in comical segments with The Revival. At Extreme Rules, The Revival will defend their titles against The Usos. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson are rumored to leave WWE once their contracts expire so if those rumors are true then they will have to drop the Raw Tag Team titles and The Usos are the best option to put the belts on.

#4 Kofi Kingston retains the WWE Championship

Kofi's run as WWE Champion should continue some more time
Kofi's run as WWE Champion should continue some more time

Kofi Kingston will put his WWE Championship on the line against Monday Night Raw's Samoa Joe. Kingston won the WWE title at WrestleMania 35 this year and has successfully retained it by defeating Superstars like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Dolph Ziggler. Samoa Joe is Kofi's biggest challenger and if he manages to overcome the Samoan Submission Machine, he will get the rub he needs as WWE Champion.

Kofi could possibly defeat Joe at Extreme Rules, as WWE might not be planning to take the title off him just yet. If Kofi retains the title, he will need another opponent for The Biggest Party Of the Summer, SummerSlam. At the direction things are going, WWE could book Randy Orton as Kofi's next opponent. The Viper could strike Kofi with an RKO outta nowhere during or after the latter's match, perfectly setting up a match between himself and Kingston for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, which will be interesting to watch.

#3 AJ Styles wins the United States Championship

The Phenomenal AJ Styles surprisingly turned heel two weeks ago on Raw when he attacked Ricochet after their match and reunited The Club, along with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. If booked right, the stable could become a big success and an ultimate threat to the rest of the roster.

The odds are against Ricochet here because no matter what happens he will still be outnumbered 3 to 1. Since The Club just recently united, they will have to make a big statement to show that they mean business and that can be accomplished if AJ Styles defeats Ricochet to become a three-time United States Champion. Styles could win the title by defeating The One and Only clean or with help from Gallows and Anderson.

AJ Styles is one of the biggest names in WWE right now along with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and it won't be a big surprise if he defeats Ricochet for the title at Extreme Rules.

#2 Sasha Banks returns to help Bayley from Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

The Boss could be on her way back to WWE sooner than expected

Bayley will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship in a two on one handicap match against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. The odds are not in her favor so she will need an extra hand to help her. Who else better to be that helping hand than Sasha Banks?

The Boss N Hug Connection were the first-ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions before they lost the titles to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35. Banks hasn't been seen since but according to reports, The Boss has been teasing returning to WWE and if the reports are to be believed then she could even the odds against her best friend Bayley at Extreme Rules.

On this week's episode of Raw, Nikki Cross challenged Bayley to find a friend, and since Sasha is Bayley's best friend, it only makes sense for her to be there by Bayley's side. Who knows? She could end up turning on The Hugger and the two could feud over the SmackDown Women's Championship.

#1 Brock Lesnar cashes in the Money in the Bank contract

IT'S TIME...
IT'S TIME...

Paul Heyman came out on this week's Raw to announce that his client Brock Lesnar will cash in his Money in the Bank contract at Extreme Rules. We don't really know if Heyman was telling the truth or not, but there is a possibility that could happen.

As Mr. Money in the Bank, you have a year to cash in your contract anywhere and anytime. Lesnar could cash in the briefcase on either Kofi Kingston or Seth Rollins, but the main reason why WWE has been focusing on Seth Rollins is to make us forget that Lesnar has the WWE Championship as an option too.

SmackDown Live is moving to Fox this October and by having Brock Lesnar as WWE Champion on SmackDown, ratings will surely go through the roof. Even though we might not want it to happen, it's possible that it will still occur.
