5 wrestlers who have a problem with John Cena

The face of a natural heel, ladies and gentlemen

John Cena is still at the top of the food chain more than 15 years after first stepping foot in a WWE ring. Not only is that a testament to this work ethic, but it also proves something that many fans aren’t willing to admit – the leader of the Cenation is one of the best all-around talents that has ever laced up a pair of boots and that’s a fact.

Now then, with the compliments out of the way, let’s move onto the negatives. It’s no secret that John hasn’t exactly been a boy scout throughout the course of his WWE journey, but few could’ve anticipated just how many superstars would have bad things to say about him once they’ve walked away from the company.

Of course, there are plenty of superstars who DO like John, but where’s the fun in a list like that? Whether it be for storyline purposes or behind the scenes, everyone has a motive for not liking someone, and that is most certainly the case for these five individuals. Who knows, maybe these snippets of information will even change your opinion on him.

With that being said, here are five wrestlers who have a problem with John Cena.

#1 Ryback

He needs feeding, guys

The Big Guy Ryback has been on the warpath in the last few months, and we aren’t talking about anything he’s done inside of the squared circle. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, with his podcast leaving many people on the edge of their seats as they try to figure out how the former IC champion is going to try and get himself over next.

One such tool that he’s used is his mouth, running down several WWE superstars. One of which is John Cena, with Ryback constantly berating John for not being the man that people portray him to be. Also, Cena pretty much destroyed The Big Guy’s momentum by defeating him with ease in several world title matches back in 2013.

#2 Alex Riley

What a waste

Now we may not have the full details behind this, but we definitely know that it happened. Back in 2011, Alex Riley was ready to break out as a big time babyface following his feud with The Miz. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and as time has gone on the rumour around the web has been that John Cena is the main cause of that.

A-Ry himself has confirmed as much in an interview, stating that one day he will reveal the truth about the whole situation. Given how much it’s been bigged up (by Ryback too ironically enough), it just seems beyond likely at this stage that Big Match John did something that could seriously alter everyone’s opinion on him.

#3 Dolph Ziggler

Please go to Japan, Dolph

During Ziggler’s feud with Cena way back when it seemed as if the now 16-time World Champion was putting Dolph over fairly strongly. However, a string of John’s promos served only to put Ziggler down and in addition to that Cena has always been in the position that the Show-Off feels is rightfully his.

Oh, and to add the cherry on top of this delightful cake, John Cena is now engaged to Dolph’s ex-girlfriend Nikki Bella and supersedes him in pretty much every way. Now we aren’t encouraging the idea of jealousy or bitterness, but come on, it must’ve been a fairly hard pill to swallow watching John propose to Nikki at Mania like that.

#4 Kenny Dykstra

Could Kenny have been a star?

Boy, did Kenny Dykstra get screwed over – supposedly, of course. The former Spirit Squad member was tipped for success ahead of all other members of the unusual group, and in addition to his on-screen glory, Kenny was also in a relationship with Mickie James. That’s not exactly a bad start to life on the road.

Unfortunately, it all came crashing down around him, with Dykstra not only claiming that Cena took Mickie away from him but that he was also responsible for the abrupt end to his rise in WWE. By all accounts, this gives Kenny a huge incentive to hate on the big man to this day, and we aren’t sure whether their ‘relationship’ will ever recover.

#5 Wade Barrett

Barrett is better off without WWE

We don’t like to throw the word destiny around all too much, but in this instance, it makes for a solid fit. You see when Wade Barrett introduced himself as the leader of The Nexus back in 2010, the WWE Universe had one thought firmly cemented in their minds: “that guy is going to be the first ever British WWE Champion”.

But not only did that not come to fruition, Cena single-handedly took it upon himself to derail the group’s momentum by going over them at SummerSlam 2010. Several sources have confirmed that it was indeed John’s decision to make this happen, and it pains us to think about where Wade could’ve been if these events didn’t transpire.
