At WWE SummerSlam 2020, Dominik Mysterio, the son of WWE legend Rey Mysterio, will make his in-ring debut. Dominik will face off against The Monday Night Messiah, Seth Rollins, on August 23.

A recent report by Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue reveals that WWE did not actually intend to give Dominik a debut singles match at SummerSlam 2020.

"I really can't see this as anything but a message from Vince McMahon to Rey Mysterio. Something like, if you're son gets hurt that's on you for pushing us to get him involved too early because the WWE did not want Dominik debuting in a solo match at this point, but that's what Rey wanted, and Rey wanted to make sure they did what he wanted before he would look at signing a new contract."

Rey Mysterio's contract with WWE expired earlier this year, and although it hasn't been made official yet, it seems that Mysterio is staying in WWE, as per a recent report by Dave Meltzer.
