#2. Former WWE Superstar CM Punk

Triple H and CM Punk shared the WWE ring several times between 2006 and 2012. They even teamed up a few times, including once against The Miz and R-Truth at Vengeance in 2011. Nevertheless, the two had real-life heat backstage.

In an interview with The Art of Wrestling podcast in 2014, Punk opened up about his relationship with Triple H during his WWE run:

"He never liked me. It's one of those situations where you always hear those stories in the dirt sheets about 'Hunter says this about Punk' and all this negative stuff, but me and him in a room together? Never any good vibes. Always negative, the way he'd always look sideways at me, the way he always treated me. For instance, a simple courtesy call. 'Hey, that is the European tour, you can't do the movie, we're going to have Randy do it.' But he thought he didn't have to do that because he thought that I was a piece of sh*t."

The Best in the World left WWE in 2014 after participating in the Royal Rumble match. At the time, WWE was planning a match between Punk and Triple H at WrestleMania. However, the company had to cancel the plan after Punk left.

Last April, Triple H revealed that he had spoken with the former WWE Champion nearly a year and a half earlier. Nonetheless, he stated that WWE would not start negotiating with Punk unless he showed interest in returning.

Meanwhile, The Straight Edge Superstar recently disclosed that he rejected an offer from WWE earlier this year:

"I remember one of the first things I ever said to them was, 'Above all, don’t play games,' and they played games. Some things never change…When you enter a conversation with people you have a past with, and you know who they are, how seriously can you take it? I know exactly who they are and they just continue to prove it. I’m trying to be as diplomatic as I possibly can," he told ESPN.

Last August, Punk returned to wrestling after nearly seven years of retirement. The 43-year-old joined AEW. He recently teamed up with Sting and Darby Allin to defeat FTR and MJF on AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash.
