#3 Rob Van Dam

More of the moment, less of the aftermath.

Rob Van Dam was one of the more high profile double champions in WWE history, especially when you consider the two titles he won. The former ECW icon was always the nearly guy, coming close to the world title and main event scene on multiple occasions.

He was constantly one of the most popular superstars on the roster throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era and that popularity was finally validated, when he won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 22.

Van Dam's cash-in turned out to be one of the most thrilling in history, with him announcing it beforehand. One Night Stand was the scene, as a rabid and bloodthirsty ECW fanbase was desperate to see RVD defeat John Cena for the WWE Championship. After a dramatic match, the crowd favorite won the title.

Shortly after, ECW was revived as the WWE's third brand and Rob Van Dam was promptly awarded the newly instated ECW World Championship by Paul Heyman. For a while, he was given the ball of two brands to run with. Unfortunately, an external incident forced WWE to book RVD to drop both the titles in short order and ultimately suspend him. Well, it was fun while it lasted, Rob.
