SCU vs The Best Friends

SCU picked up a huge win
SCU picked up a huge win

The show was supposed to start with SCU taking on The Best Friends in the AEW Tag Team Championship tournament. As Christopher Daniels and Kazarian made their way down to the ring, the Lucha Bros attacked them from behind. Scorpio Sky came down to drive the Lucha Bros away and was forced to replace Daniels in the match.

The Best Friends were in complete control in the early stages after the match actually began. Trent and Chuckie T worked on Kazarian at ringside early on in the match before the Best Friends hit a double suplex for a near-fall. Even this early on, Scorpio Sky looked pretty worried.

Sky looked in good shape when he came in off the hot-tag before being taken out by a cheap-shot from Chuck Taylor. Taylor went to hit a dive onto Scorpio Sky but ended up taking out his own partner instead.

Scorpio Sky used the opening to try and pin Trent who kicked out. The Best Friends made a brief comeback, with Trent taking out Sky with a Scorpio Sky with a knee strike. They followed it up with a Doomsday Knee to Scorpio Sky for a near-fall. Trent looked to hit Kazarian with a Piledriver on the apron but Scorpio Sky came in to make the save at the right moment.

Chuck Taylor was sent flying into the barricade before Sky and Kazarian hit Trent with a Powerbomb/Strike combo for the win.

Santana and John Silver started the match. Santana immediately took out Reynolds with a boot before focusing on Silver. He tagged in Ortiz who raked Silver across the back before gesturing to Santana to finish Silver off. Sanatana and Ortiz then hit the Street Sweeper to pick up the win with Santana covering John Silver for the pinfall.

An easy win for Santana and Ortiz on AEW Dynamite this week as they look ahead of bigger match-ups in the future.

Chris Jericho appeared on the screen to cut a promo as Santana and Ortiz were making their way out of the arena. Jericho said that Santana and Ortiz were already dominating the AEW Tag-Team division and that they wanted to issue a challenge to the none other than Matt and Nick Jackson at AEW Full Gear in November.

Riho (C) vs Dr. Britt Baker (for the AEW Women's Championship)

Riho defended her AEW Women's title for the first time against Dr. Britt Baker. Baker immediately showed off her superior strength while it was clear that Riho would have to use her agility to win. Baker failed in an arm-drag takedown early on and both ladies crashed to the floor as Riho crawled to the ropes.

Baker tried pinning Riho after reversing a crossbody but Riho maneuvered out and hit a running dropkick. Riho took Baker down with a body scissors before immediately hitting Baker with a stomp to the midsection. The Champ headed to the top rope but missed with her Stomp.

Baker capitalized and hit a TKO before following it up with a boot to Riho's chest. The champ followed up with a couple of desperate roll-up attempts before Baker took her out with a swinging neckbreaker. Baker followed up with a superkick for the near-fall. The Champion replied with a Northern Lights Suplex out of nowhere before locking in a single leg Boston Crab.

Baker reached the bottom rope but Riho wasted no time in reaching to the top rope and hitting the double stomp to Baker's back for a near-fall. The champ tried to follow up with the running knees but Baker dodged it and connected with a forearm. Baker then tried to lock in the Ring of Saturn into the Mandible Claw but as she was transitioning, Riho rolled her over and pinned her to retain her title.

Jurassic Express vs Lucha Bros (AEW Tag-Team Championship Tournament)

It initially looked like Pentagon and Fenix would refuse to compete against Jurassic Express because Luchasaurus was out injured. He called Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy "babies" before referee Aubrey Edwards forced them to get into the ring.

Marko Stunt and Pentagon started us off. To his credit or stupidity, Marko Stunt showed no fear and got under Pentagon's skin. Stunt bit Pentagon before Jungle Boy helped him hit Pentagon with a hurricanrana. Fenix came in and caught Jungle Boy with a Superkick but Jurassic Express continued dominating the early stages of the match.

The dominance continued until Jungle Boy went to Irish Whip Stunt into Pentagon who hit a nasty Superkick. Fenix came in and took out Jungle Boy as Pentagon hit Marko Stunt with a Pumphandle Driver. Stunt managed to kick out at the last second.

During the commercial break, Pentagon lifted Stunt with one arm and launched him into Fenix who caught him with a Superkick in midair.

Stunt was still cornered after we came back from the break. Stunt caught Pentagon in the face with a boot and both men made tags. Jungle Boy came in on the hot tag and cleared house. He dumped Pentagon out of the ring before we saw some great tandem offense from Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt. They almost got the pinfall on Fenix until Pentagon came in the wrest control for his team.

Pentagon hit Marko Stunt with the armbreaker. The Lucha Bros then hit the double stomp into the Packaged Piledriver on Stunt for the win.

Jon Moxley and PAC vs Kenny Omega and 'Hangman' Adam Page

Kenny Omega and Adam Page went after Moxley and PAC before the bell had officially been rung. Moxley and Omega traded chops as PAC and Page brawled at ringside. Moxley soon took Omega down with a clothesline before PAC tagged himself in.

PAC and Moxley had Omega trapped in their corner and traded tags as they worked him over. Omega finally got to Page and made the tag. The Hangman looked in great shape as he cleared the ring. He looked set to dominate the match as he headed to the top rope, only for Moxley to push him off. Page landed back-first on the apron before crashing out to ringside.

Moxley and PAC continued their dominance during the commercial break. They continued to isolate Hangman Page as the match went on until Page finally created an opening after taking Moxley down with a lariat.

Both men tagged out with PAC and Omega coming in as the legal men. Omega hit both PAC and Moxley with his patented Snap Dragon Suplex. Omega then launched himself over the top rope and into PAC who had rolled out to ringside. Moxley followed up with a suicide dive taking out Omega. Page then hit a Moonsault out to ringside from the top rope, taking out both Moxley and PAC.

Back in the ring, PAC took Omega out with a cutter before Page launched him out of the ring. Moxley and Omega traded strikes in the ring. Omega then hit the V-Trigger before Moxley took him out with a clothesline. Both men crawled out to ringside. Omega took out a barb-wired broom and Moxley took out a barb-wired baseball bat.

Moxley and Omega were about to go at it when PAC came in and put an end to it. Moxley wasn't having any of this and hit his own partner with the Paradigm Shift and walked out of the match.

Omega and Page quickly finished off PAC with a V-Trigger and a Deadeye for the win.

Chris Jericho (C) vs Darby Allin (for the AEW World Championship in a Philadelphia Street Fight)

Darby Allin came at Jericho right out of the blocks. He caught Jericho with a dropkick, driving him out to ringside. Allin continued peppering Jericho with strikes before rolling the Champion back into the ring.

Jericho found an opening at this point and briefly got back in control but Allin's speed continued to cause Jericho problems. Jericho kept grounding Allin only for the challenger to pepper Jericho with strikes in short bursts. Jericho then launched Allin out of the ring. The landing looked nasty and Allin clutched his knee.

Jericho had no sympathy for the challenger and continued the beatdown at ringside. Le Champion then rolled Allin back into the ring and took out a kendo stick. We saw that Allin was busted open at the back of his head as Jericho unloaded on him with the kendo stick.

Jericho then headed to the top rope with the kendo stick. Allin dodged Jericho's attempted strike and grabbed the kendo stick. He got a few shots in until Jericho locked in the Liontamer. The referee forced Jericho to break the hold after Allin crawled to the bottom rope.

Allin hit Jericho with the kendo stick as Jericho was arguing with the referee. The challenger then got a 2-count off a crossbody. Le Champion then set up a steel chair in the corner. As he went to launch Darby Allin into the chair, Allin reversed it and hit him with a Stunner for a near-fall.

Jericho recovered and locked in the Liontamer once again and Allin managed to get to the ropes once more. Jericho then taped Allin's arms together and unloaded on his defenseless challenger. Allin somehow hit a no-handed moonsault and covered Jericho for a 2-count. Jericho scampered out of the ring and Allin followed it with a suicide dive with his hands still tied.

Back in the ring, Allin hit a dive off the top rope for another near-fall. Jericho caught Allin with a clothesline and powerbombed him onto the skateboard. Allin somehow kicked out again and caught Jericho with a dropkick. Allin headed to the top rope once again and as Jericho had the referee distracted, Jake Hager came out. He knocked Alllin off the top rope and Jericho locked in the Liontamer for the win.
